I'm looking at a 1st gen that is an automatic. What are pros or cons? Reliable? Problems?
    any info would be helpful.

The automatic found in the 1st gens, either the A340F or A340H(4 or 6 cyl.), are as reliable as the sun. That's the only pro. The con is they sap the little(and I mean little!)performance these engines have.

    P.S. If it's a 3.0 avoid it altogether.
