I'm pretty sure it's widely accepted that 2024 is the soonest the 6th Gen. will be showing up.

OK. Thanks. Appears I'm a bit behind on my information. LOL This 40th Anniversary Model does look sharp. It might be yet more evidence that the 2023 MY will indeed be the last of the 5th Generation. (?)

Nothing to miss. No 6th gen coming, despite all the (false) rumors.

Wait another year or buy a 'new' 4Runner that was designed 15 years ago.

I bought my 2022 as I was afraid they will change it.

I only wish I could have gotten with out all the new computer nanny stuff.

I jumped on the bandwagon to save myself 10/15k ..... 6th Gen may not have same bold appeal.
Most new trucks/SUVs are looking more like Minivans now.

Look at the new Honda Pilots.

So dumb question. If I wanted a Solar Octane it’s a Pro trim with the tall roof rack (I assume the same roof rack)

Can that rack be easily replaced with an ORP black roof rack? Will they holes simply line up?

I am fairly confident I could not get a Pro in my garage with that rack. My current ORP fits fine no issues and thankfully I can open the tail gate also.

Maybe the stripes will help with the steering wheel shake.

Toyota doesn't take custom orders, it's just a matter of being on your dealer's waiting list. I'd call your dealer now if you really want something specific.

As Toyota only does dealership allocations, I would try and work with a larger volume dealer who would get a larger allocation of 4Runner's. Some dealers are taking "dealership" deposits and putting you into their allocation que.

I put a $1,000 refundable deposit on a Solar Octane Pro.

No, we went off a 2022 Pro with Solar Octane as the noted color. Since I am in FL I am sure this will come through with some added port options from South East Toyota.... especially the $699 Toyota Guard... Grrrr.
That being said ... I will not be charged any market adjustments... just whatever the 2023 MRSP is + port installed options.

I have the itch for the Solar Octane but bought a 21 ORP last June below MSRP before everything went crazy. I must be nuts only have 600 miles on it and stored it all winter has not even seen rain.

Good thing I am single because if I was not I would be soon

While I love the current 4R I get those that want a new Gen. From a business perspective why change it if it sells well and people obviously still want them with these gas prices. Tooling and development paid years ago. This is a cash cow for Toyota.

On a somewhat humorous note maybe they could offer that under coated frame on this 40th anniversary. Maybe the frame would last that long then.

Too bad the next Pro color isn't something different.

    This would be pretty cool.

One-at-this-price stripper. Bought new 34 yrs ago, a $13K leftover. Added Detroit TruTrac, 1”rear spring spacer and “pinstripes”… Factory AC kit and roof rack bought at dealer cost at time of purchase, still blows ice cold 32yrs later. 2022 AG ORP all stock.
The Starsky and Hutch stripes doesn’t work for me……

I used to have a Kawasaki KLR650 dual sport. It was a 91. I bought it 97 and sold it last year. Good bike, put near 60,000miles on the thing.

Those things went a long time using the BNG marketing. I dont think anybody cared though since that bike was for people that just wanted a solid, known, tough, reliable bike.

Part of the reason I like the 4runner.

What a huge letdown, nothing special about it and only a fool would pay the markup but since the 2023 was supposed to be a 6th gen I get toyota not wanting to throw anymore money into the 5th gen

I just saw a Solar Octane Tundra at my dealer and it is definitely orange!

I don’t care for the black camouflage trim in the bumpers and wheel wells personally though. It looks like black trim pre faded ten years early.

I wonder if they will put that camo trim on 4R or just use that paint color.

My photo shop skills stink so pardon the pic. But I think this sort of shows the variation. The Solar octane to me seems darker and definitely more metallic. The metallic is impressive when I saw in the sun today. The orange tone reminds me of the General Lee from the Dukes of Hazzard.

The bumpers on the tundra look like they need some polish like Mothers Back to Black that use on faded black trim.

It's not the same color, anymore than Cavalry Blue and Voodoo Blue are the same.
