I'd greatly appreciate some more info on the headlights. Where you got them, what they cost, thoughts on install and maybe a "long term review"

Got rid of the stock stereo and installed a pioneer. Was my first time installing one so took me about 3 hours but super easy once you figure it out. IMG_20170312_101232.jpg

Getting ready to install a custom grill to protect the radiator and tranny cooler. I bought some wire grill that's pretty easy to manipulate and I'm going to frame it out with some tin. All galvanized. If any one has ideas please share.

    IMG_1253.jpg

Well... Here is the outcome. I call it.... simple, functional and inexpensive. Hit me up for the details

Right on! I scored a killer deal on Crutchfield. JVC double din and $50 for all for speakers. They supply you with instructions and all the hardware for the install. Total came out to $180.00 and took me about 5 hours. Nice Job!!

My brother that originally owned it had put it on. He used it with some baja fenders, when i repainted it i put original ones back on. Ive since then had to fix his work lol

The biggest piece you need to do it is replace the Main core support. That is cheap, you can drill out the old one on the pinch welds and put the new one in place. I cant remember but you may have to replace a few line because how they are mounted or just modify the core support. After that its just lights, grillie and bumper. Done.

Running boards removed, B&M 70268 trans cooler, Energy Suspension rack bushings & front/rear sway bar/end link bushings, led dome lights. DIY roof rack out of Superstrut.
Since I was running temps of 203 avg and a high of 208.4 (per ultragauge) I decided to put in a new thermostat and make sure the jiggle valve was in the 6 o'clock position.
When I got it opened it up I found the jiggle valve in the 12 o'clock position (original thermostat).
I put the new thermostat in with the valve at 6 o'clock. Temperatures don't go over 194 now. Well worth the time and money to get this done.

yes it is vary important to change your ball joints!!!!! but do not go to auto zone or any place like that they are junk parts order only toyota parts camelback toyota is where i get all my parts they will last 200.000 miles trust me i know i went thru o reilly ball joints in 2500 miles then had to replace them. pain in the ass camelback parts are all original parts and the prices are reasonable. larry long time 4runner owner.

and don't forget to change your timing belt water pump and idler pulleys every 100.000 miles that is the most important thing they are only designed to last that long. if your timing belt breaks you will need to rebuild your engine that will set you back 3000 bucks.

had mine done at the shop for only 400 dollars plus another 250 for the timing kit small investment for a guaranteed 100.000 miles of dependable service rite.
