Any product recommendations for mounting the front license plate? Thank you!

Didn’t your new 4Runner come with one upon delivery? If the dealership didn’t install it, they should have left it inside your new 4Runner (along with a Toyota cargo net and a Toyota branded first aid kit).

I’ve always opted for the front plate delete lol. Never had an issue on any of my vehicles even when I’ve gotten pulled over. Lucky I suppose and knock on wood lol.

Leave it, looks better like that. Don't drill into the valance. I asked my dealer when I purchased the vehicle not to put it on. He said, sometimes they come from the port already drilled with the plate holder. Not entirely sure how true this is.

Some states require it. Luckily , here in NC they do not. Unfortunately, when I bought my 2016 (used), it came from NY, where I guess it is required. Had to leave the mount on because they drill right through the plastic. Even mounted it crooked.:annoyed:
I had to re-mount it and get a vanity plate. The mount can be found on Amazon, for those that may wish to have it. It is a factory fit. Wish I wasn't stuck with one.

Yeah I would leave it alone and risk not having the plate personally (that's just me). I know Ohio who always had front plates I heard says now it is not required. Thank goodness MI does not require it.

Take a look at your state laws. Leave it if it’s not required….add if it is :)

Why would you put a license plate on this mug?

Think they only come with them if the state there in requires a front plate. My home state requires them and it’s always the first thing to come off. Haven’t yet had any issues

Lucky you! I have always kept my vehicles 100% legal. I've lived in 6 different states with laws that vary. I just choose not to be bothered. More important than the vanity of my ride. A LP is no big deal to me if that's the law...stupid as it may be.

I also believe profiling has a lot do do with it. Hassle the older vehicles in rougher shape vs the newer nicer ones.

Actually, they don't seem to have time to hassle you anymore, as evidenced by how fucked up people drive these days and get away with it. When I was a young driver, you would get a ticket for not using a turn signal.
" Failure to signal intentions " not kidding.

Nice find! Although, I don't think I'd like the look of an off-centered plate due to the center sensor plate on the newer 4Runners (right where I'd want to put it). But I'm sure that won't stop more people in this thread from rubbing it in that they live in a state that doesn't require front plates. LOL

I currently have a 2018 TRD Off Road Premium with the front OEM Toyota plate mount (a small price to pay living in Colorado). I didn't like how the lower half was just exposed and not supported/backed so I found a minimal matte black license plate frame and a chromed steel 6x12 inch plate on Amazon to place directly behind my state aluminum plate to help it from getting bent. The OEM plastic mount is really a poor design.

That's pretty cool. Luckily MI doesn't require a front plate but that's a good option for those required by law
