    Hi,
Hope this is the right place to ask this.
I bought a 2016 trail 2 weeks ago after lots of research. Want a ToyTec lift with 33" and body mount chop. No problem except I can not find a shop that will do it

Does anyone know of a shop in the San Jose/Palo Alto area that would do this work?

I have asked a few places and either they only work on jeeps, they don't want the project it is out of their line of work, or they are too backlogged.

Current status is either I will need to try to do it myself or...don't lift it at all

Any suggestion/referrals to someone capable and experienced would be appreciated

Will give them a call - they didn't show the ToyTec lift on their website, but it's worth a call! Thanks!!

Yeah they won't. If you are looking to buy that lift it would often be easier/less expensive to purchase the lift separately. Any decent shop can install.

If they won't do it, there is another shop in Oakland, I don't remember the name. I called 4wheel parts a while ago asking about mounting a front hitch and they referred me to this other shop. (Im sure if you ask they will give you a name of a shop that will do it)

For the price of installation you could buy all the tools yourself and do the install. Lifting these vehicles is extremely easy. I lifted mine on a Saturday, took me about six hours and that included taking apart the coil overs and a lot of breaks.

Yes...it is appearing that I will need to do the job myself.

What the situation seems to be out here is that in the Bay Area there is plenty of work for shops to do that is easy work...general maintenance 'o plenty type work....'low hanging fruit'. So, I think what is going on is that if, say, you owned a shop in an area where there was plenty of easy jobs to do, why would you accept a job to put a lift in? What is the financial motivation?

This is starting to explain why a shop out in Fairfield like http://www.anyonesoffroad.com/ may accept the job, but a shop in the Bay Area won't.

good news! I was talking to a guy where I work and he had a lift done on a Chevy at a place 2 miles from where I live in Redwood City...http://www.redwoodgeneraltire.com/

I know this place and would not have thought of them, but I talked to the tech there, Alex, and they have lifted Tacomas and 4runners, has done the body mount chop, showed me pix of their work on a Tacoma...looks good!

Hey there! I'm local to you. It's funny that i'd totally need to agree regarding shops. They all work on jeeps. I have no idea why, but it seems as though they only work on the easy cars. Most kids around here pick up a jeep, some spacers, fender flares, and get their lift. It's basically, as i see it, a fad. I think there isn't a huge market for working on lifting toyotas as they're more espensive, and basically not needed to be lifted here. That being said, i drove mine up to tahoe/reno to get a lift installed. There's some pretty hardcore toyota lifters up there!

How much was your total for the install at california wheels?
