Has anyone ever done the BHLM on a 5th gen, particularly on the led units? I've done my fair share on tacomas, but curious if these are the butyl or permaseal. More curious on if the '21+ housings are able to get baked with all the new led stuff. Thanks!

Trail 4Runner did a retrofit article that they describe cracking open the headlights:

    Retrofit

Now that I've installed the OEM LED headlights into my truck, I'm trying to figure out what to do with my old ones. Sell them for cheap, or try my own retrofit? :anonymous:

A retrofit with these projectors would be awesome!! They are not your average Bi-LED as the high beam has its own, dedicated, LED light to give significantly better high beam performance. (Not like the typical option that uses the same LED, with a shutter, for both low and high beams).

Now imagine that TRUE Bi-LED performance in tandem with your HIR halogen high beams. Just sayin…

I would say the one advantage of the M-LED 2.0 is a bracket system that's ready to bolt into place and replace the factory halogen projector, solving a bit more homework.

Wish you could get them in warmer tones than 6000K+. As for high beams, it would be cool to graft these into the old reflector buckets. Pro driving lamps in 4000K white. Of course, they're easy enough to use as auxiliary lights already.
