    Hey Guys and Girls,

I need help. What is the basic difference between these two options? I can see the differences in the pictures so I guess what I am really asking, is the extra $400 worth the investment for a daily driven, pavement princess (not really planning on four-wheeling)?

Is the ride comfort noticeably improved with the more expensive option?

I am looking for a modest lift on my '16 SR5 Premium, less than 3 inches and I plan to go with the 275/70-R17 BFG KO's.

    Any input would be appreciated.

    http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/3-Lift-W-Bilstein-5100-Front-Coilovers-FJ4RunnerGX_p_365.html this one runs $909

    http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/FJ-Cruiser4RunnerGX460-Ultimate-3-lift-package_p_905.html this one is $1,309

Kit 2 has fully adjustable collars on the front struts and the addition of rear bump stops. That's the extra $400 bucks. Kit 1 should be fine

Cool. Thanks. Ride quality much improved with the more expensive option or not really (is that what you meant by the first option should be fine)?

Not really. The more expensive option just has more adjustability.

Ok thanks. I will save the $400 for something else and go with the less expensive option.

I'm in the same boat as you recently picked up a '16 TEP and it will be the daily for my wife. Let me know how you like it when you install lift. I still have a couple months before I lift it.

Ok will do, but it will be a few months for me as well. I was expecting a few dollars from the tax man, but.....turns out I owe him a few dollars. Oh well.

3 inch lift, 33 inch tires, and lots of DAY stuff cause I'm cheap.
When I saw toytec I choked a little, but then I saw the links. I bought a bilstein/toytec kit (5100s in front and toytec "Boss" rears) and the bilstein struts are great, but the toytec shocks proved unworthy. Had problems where the lower shock mount would dismember itself from the rod. Me personally, after all the headache trying to get a 3rd party site to replace parts for me and not succeeding, I'd stick to buying it from either the manufacturer or a physical shop that is licensed to sell their parts. Moral of the story, the Internet is a pain in my ass. As for adjustability, most kits actually tell you not to go that much over the lowest setting or not at all. This is because the angles of the CV's, Ball joints, inner tie rods all become very harsh and when at full extension many times it can cause lots of expensive and potentially dangerous problems (From Personal Experience).

    Thanks for
The reply, did you ever change the rear shocks? Would of going bilsteins all the way around not cause this problem?

I got rid of the crappy rear shocks and put what is arguably just as crappy and cheap Pro Comp shocks. Why the pro comp and not bilstein? At 4 Wheel parts in Plano, Tx the pro comp 3 inch lift shocks are $5 cheaper and 1 inch LONGER than the bilsteins. They have a lifetime guarantee, basically walk in with the old and out with the new. But hey, at least they are still in one piece.

there has been some growing pains with the boss shocks. They seem to have that figured out now.

I think I'm going with 6112's, 5100's rear and 1" cornfed spacer for rear or maybe icon spring for rear that sound good?

Depends on how much lift you want. If you get the icon 2" rear springs you will need to set the front to 2.5" lift and be on the edge of alignment specs for needing upper control arms.

If you get the rear spacer, you can set the front at 1.75 and be good all day

I'll be doing a spacer then don't want to do Ucas, I should be able to fit 285's at 1.75 or stick to 275's?

Mastersyneca, are you referring to your 97 4Runner? Because once again your reply doesn't make a lot of sense referring to the questions jamart is asking of his 5th gen.

If you want no rubbing or trimming, yes, 275's will be a great fit at that height.
