Looks great! What's funny is I've been thinking a Corolla hatchback would complement the 4Runner nicely. Maybe in a year or 2.

The big question answered tonight: it'll be a J car. Even better, built at the Motomachi plant. That is awesome!!!

I wonder why they decide to use 3 cyl 1.6T not 4cyl 1.6T? With 4cyl it would be much smoother right?

Loving that 30/70 split with more rear bias system. Honda Passport, Pilot also has this upto 30/70 awd split.

I'm 6th on the list and I have a feeling I'll be waiting a year or 2. These are going to sell

I'm curious about the engine choice as well. The only thing I can think of is maybe with larger displacement per cylinder, the internals can be more beefy, while keeping it more efficient. :notsure: I might be way off, though.

I'm curious what this engine will sound like!

It sounded like they'll be here this year. Hopefully it's a better rollout that the Bronco!

Maybe by the time I'm ready to get a second vehicle, the dealers will stop gouging!. :D

The plant where they are being assembled is almost a boutique plant focused on quality. I think it's the smallest plant by units produced. I don't see huge numbers produced quickly. The LFA was built at the Motomachi plant.

they should give some to Mazda and let them design their own exterior.

My friend had a Daihatsu three cylinder. Wonder if they were a part of engineering?

Got some details on GR allocation today. Confirmed that my dealer will charge MSRP no markup. The wait will be long unless I get lucky and find one at another dealership. I imagine some dealers are going to have some significant market adjustments on these. I'm 6th on my dealers list, so as the dealer receives the GRs, people on the list can purchase or pass. I want a red core with LSD, but if my wait is long enough, maybe I'll get a circuit. Pricing on the circuit is estimated at 41+. That's a lot for a Corolla.

I think it's amazing that there was no leakage of info prior to now, and the car will be available later this year. So many vehicles get advertised and teased 1-2 years before release.

That is actually pretty typical for Toyota. They have ridiculously tight security regarding leaks during pre-production vehicle testing, and anything that is leaked is typically leaked intentionally.

Which is surprising, because I’m guessing they would benefit from as much hype regarding new models as possible.

Yes! They don't want to give anyone a reason not to buy the ancient 5th gen. :D
