I was wondering if anyone had the same problem and/or know the fix...

When using either the steering wheel controls or the seek buttons on the dash to seek the next channel in XM radio, it will either skip channels or actually go back channels. I'm not using the up/down buttons to go thru the presets. I'm using the left/right buttons to seek. Everything seems to be working correctly with fm/am seek/scan.

The dealership so far is claiming that it is working correctly, because it's actually seeking categories, not channels. This is obviously false, since the channels it skips to/from don't match the categories.
6 months ago, they agreed that it was malfunctioning, but they couldn't fix it until they got a SW update. I called Toyota and they said there are & were SW updates available 6 months ago. It appears that I'm just going to get the run around from the service shop.

Any ideas on how to fix this headache?

Xm and HD radio sounds so damn horrible I haven't even messed with scan. Sounds like they are playing in a tin can no matter what I do with the bass/mid/treble...I had the old school XM on the Delphi unit back in the day in my 1st Gen, and it sounded full range and glorious. Not a good way to drum up current subscribers if you ask me.

I'll play around with the left/right buttons on the way to work and report back. I hooked up an ipod through the USB for the first time yesterday and it was the first time the left/right functionality had true purpose, ipod navigation was fantastically easy from the steering wheel.

Alright, going left and right on left thumb steering control in XM seeks next station for me. Going right, it goes up numerically through stations-XM 34, 35, 36, etc. Left goes back down numerically.
Using dash buttons on the right side of head unit, SEEK^ goes up numerically on XM stations, TRACKv goes down numerically. Hope this helps, unfortunately I don't have a fix short of them reloading the software for you?

Installed Rago brackets and 4" cube ditch lights. Weather tech mats. Cargo net. Cargo mat. Ordered Gobi rack with ladder.
Something must be wrong with your system. Our XM sounds amazing. Turn to 76 I believe (classical) and turn it up. Wow Mozart comes alive in the cab. They had 34 years to work on the sound in these runners. Now my Tundra is absolutely horrible. Sounds more like a hand held radio than stereo.

Not sure if something is wrong as other audio sources sound great and sound like a quality signal, it's more like the streaming quality or bandwidth that XM itself is coming through on is basically crappy.
