Got my Gobi rack installed a few weekends ago but didn't have time to install the wind deflector until last weekend. I followed their instructions to the word but couldn't get the damn thing to rest on the roof all the way. If the sides weren't resting the middle was or if the sides were all the way down then the middle wasn't. Couldn't ever get the whole thing to sit directly down on the roof. Anyone else have this issue and if so, what did you do to fix? No point installing it if it wont sit down on roof as it would probably whistle through the small gap, and that will drive me more nuts than the noise from the rack when it is not on there now. Thanks

Is the fairing bowed at all or is it straight........as in when you're looking it from the side does the middle stick out further towards the front bumper and the sides are further aft?

If you could post some pictures, that might also be helpful.

I don't have any pics as I took it off when I couldn't get it to sit flush. Going to give it another shot this weekend after replacing the nylon washers with metal.

By design, the deflector is meant to have curvature when it is installed correctly so yes, the middle will stick out further towards the front than the sides

I know it's meant to have curvature, but I was asking if yours had curvature once installed or was looking kind of flat?

I have a Gobi on my truck and my fairing sits flush.

Just trying to problem solve :)

And I appreciate any and all advice while problem solving! Wasn't trying to man-splain as my wife calls it but I guess I didn't understand the question fully. It appeared to have curvature, just the middle had a slight gap under it and wasn't sitting down on the roof. I even tried repositioning the middle bracket but nothing seemed to work.

Just want to check......did your fairing come with that rubber piece that attaches to the bottom to prevent the hard plastic of the fairing from rubbing the roof?

It did. Came with the rubber on the bottom and the 3M clear tape to put under it to prevent it from rubbing off the paint
