I dig. I’ve been using Blenders and Knockaround for years, but fuggers scratch so easy

My go-to is a set of Hoonigan branded Heat Waves for driving. If I am going to be outside for an extended then I have some Oakleysthat kind of cover even the ides of my eyes.

    How scratch resistant are these?

I have 4-5 pairs of Oakley chain links I got from Costco for 80 bucks each between all my cars.

I have had like 3x diff color versions of this exact pair. I don't put it through anything too rough, but one pair, dropped it out onto a rocky driveway and I expected it to have more severe damage than it did, just one small nick spot.

Sorry for the out of topic question. Anyone use polarized and mirrored sunglasses? Do you get headaches sometimes? It's Rayban if brand matter.

Not sure if it's high elevation or lack of water. But just trying to see others experience if polarized are bad for driving or is it something else the cause for occasional headache.

Have you seen the world lately.

Re: Ray Bans, I've had the same pair of classic Wayfarers P+ for the last 15 or so years.

And no headaches from them... the world :frustrated::goingcrazy::annoyed::rasta:

Keep the lenses pristine-clean. That's the biggest cause of heaadaches, especially different dirt on the two lenses. You eyes try to focus on the marks/dirt on the lenses, and with different ones on the two lenses, it makes them work in strange ways. Thus, headache. Even a scratch on one, or both lenses, can do it.

That could be my problem. Since 5gen TRD models does not have a sunglass holder I tend to just keep them on cup holders / passenger seat and some times on 4wd select lever area. Don't have the case or cleaning cloth..

I don't notice headaches related to driving. I have heard that lower end polarized glasses can be bad for your eyes, but I used cheapies exclusively until a few years ago. Now I buy Costa Del Mar and love them!

Pick up a el cheapo micro fiber cloth someplace. Any place. They're everywhere. They work great for cleaning glass and plastic both.

A little trick I picked up when I had put a windscreen on my bike. It was plastic, and the bugs, frost, etc stuck to it with a death grip. I had learned that Pledge worked fantastic to keep the shine on my Corfram uniform shoes when I was in the Corps. They have a very thin plastic layer on them that holds the shine on the leather. I thought I'd give it a shot.
Sure enough, a shot of Pledge, and a good wipe, like you're trying to take the Pledge off with a cloth, and first off, NOTHING sticks to the plastic. After application of the first layer of the stuff, everything, from road tar to bugs, just wipes off. Secondly, it tends to hide the small scratches plastic develops over time.

If you sunglasses lenses are plastic, get a microfiber cloth, and a can of Pledge. A light shot on the cloth, and a good scrub of the lenses can do wonders. And when they gather dust/dirt, just wipe, and it'll come off easy. Makes them smell nice, too. I like the lemon scent.

    Good luck!
    Pat☺

    Good question!

If that's the case, the product would be much more appealing if they were polarized. I won't buy anything that isn't.

Only wear polarized.. better the polarization, better at cutting glare. Also great for fishing, makes it much better to see past the surface of the water. Just bought a pair of Native brand glasses from Bass Pro Shop. Great lenses.

Well I fish and can't live without it. Obviously I'm not a pilot.

But I just see so much douche bags wearing all kind colorful sunglasses for no reason at all. Kinda matches their colorful shirts and short shorts.
