    Hey question:

I'm needing replacement tires on my wife 4runner (2018).

I'm really liking the general grabber at/x. Because of the minimal road noise based on some of the reviews I have read. I'm able to to get the tires for about 218 each with load E, but I'm thinking they maybe to harsh vs Load C. I'm not able to find the load C unless I go to tirerack but they are asking 208 per tire per tire.

Should I go with load C or get the better load E tire? And hope they are not all to harsh?

    Thanks for listening

By the way if I get the load E tire it's 20 dollars per tire for the install and load C is about 35 per tire. Differe places to install the tire.

    Thanks for listening.

I always use E load, not complaints at all. Some say it’s like riding on stone wheels like the flinstones. I use E load though for rocky terrain when I’m off roading, so if you’ll be sticking to the pavement C load would be a good option.

thanks after some consideration this morning and your comment we decided against the E load tire. We ahead and ordered C Load from tire rack and got a 64 dollar discount for selecting pickup from their distribution center only 3 miles away. With extortion fees from California and tire price out the door was 858 and some change. Pep boys will install the tires for 83 dollars. Thanks for the comment above and reading the other threads. :)

posting the current pic of her tire, currently out of commission until we pick up the tires on Tuesday.

looks like you are in need of an alignment too. I’m probably going to go with the generals next. Let us know what you think of them.

Yup, totally agree. we have one done every 10k or so at firestone with their lifetime alignment package. I don't think they are doing a great job or doing it all. :(

were looking for suspension, now. Eibach is back in stock so it seems, but not sure if we are ready to spend 1.2k or maybe just go with nice shock setup only and keep the springs. still searching thou and reading all the amount of info in the suspension thread :)

The General Grabbers are what the guys out in the Australian Bush use on 4WD 24/7. Very capable tire. (They also use Goodyears as well)

As a road tire we had them on our Pathfinders way back in the day. They were quiet and excellent in the rain.

    Quick update:

Ride is a tad harsher if it means anything, almost if we got new shocks. Road noise no difference, wife now thinks we should have gotten load E instead of C . Shae love the tires, again we didn't notice any road noise increase.

Hope that helps anyone thinking of getting the tires. Let me know if you would like some pics of the new shoes.

The main reasons to go with a heavier LT tire (10 ply) is for towing/hauling heavy loads or off-roading in rocky conditions. I like LT tires in Load Range C for my 4R because I don't do either of those things. But many people don't mind the harsher "on road" ride from the Load Range E tires.

Trust me my wife thinks, curbs are another method to get in a driveway.

Whatever you do, get a GOOD alignment done! Tires are too expensive to have the kind of wear I see in your pic.
You could have gotten a lot more miles out of the old ones. Whoever did it last, should NOT do it again!

Agree, we have the lifetime wheel alignment from firestone. The 4runner is up for an oil change, going over after to show them the pics. I don't know if I have any recourse.
