Well it’s been a bit of a wait. I signed my deal on December 4th and my truck was built and shipped into the Vancouver port in Canada and now to Toronto where it sits in the yard in “Processing Status” since last week. Not sure what it is but my dealer can’t tell me anything it’s like voodoo getting any info. They say they only get the VIN three days before it ships to them. All I wanted to know was is the truck shipped complete or is it waiting for any parts. Can’t tell me anything which is super frustrating! I’ve never had this experience with any other car manufacturer and Toyota seems so secretive with information regarding delivery etc. I Know the Pro’s get their rims etc done at the port or processing yards then sent to the dealer so maybe that’s the hold up. Any insight here? I’m in the final stretch hopefully but man it’s tough not even knowing if the truck is missing chips etc.

    Jeff

In my experience, and maybe Canada is different, once it leaves the port it should be complete. It gets on a train to your area and then on a truck to your dealer. I'm guessing it's at the railyard waiting for a truck. I bet it's just the trucker shortage and finding a driver that's all you're waiting for at this point.

Good luck, should be here soon!

I don't think the part about them only getting the VIN a few days before the vehicle ships is accurate. My Toyota salesman knew I may be in the market for an entry level Tacoma. He gave me 2 options on Tacomas allocated to him that aren't even built yet and the VINs are on both sheets. I also had the VIN of my '22 4Runner weeks before it arrived at my dealer, so it doesn't matter what the country of original is.

My salesman showed me his computer screen that showed the exact status of where my vehicle was and an estimated date of arrival at his lot. It sounds like you need to ask someone else at your dealership what's up.
