Please don’t flame me for asking, I have searched this forum and others looking for a sticky or a general information page about the Surf diesels and haven’t found much.

I love diesels and the prospect of having a 4Runner or LC with a factory diesel is really attractive.

However, I can’t seem to find the good, bad and ugly information about these vehicles.

Can anyone help me or steer me in the right direction?

    Thanks!

I had a buddy who owned one in New Zealand. I owned a petrol version.

We both loved them. No issues whatsoever.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

I remember his being a manual trans (not sure if they're all manual transmissions).

He went trout fishing in it all over the country.

    It treated him well.
