According to some inside sources, there have been set-backs with the engine design. They didn't want to just make it a standard hybrid where a computer regulates the electric motor and ICU back and forth. Supposedly they want a set-up where the driver can choose ICU mode, hybrid mode, or electric mode. This was kind of a last minute change and as a result will push the 6th gen debut back 1.5 years or so.

These are just rumors, of course but come from sources that have been reliable in the past.

Praying that its a 2.4L turbo diesel.... but then again Japanese manufacturers are stupid. They will never let us have it :bananadead::bananadead::bananadead::bananadead::bananadead::bananadead::bananadead::bananadead::bananadead::bananadead::bananadead:

True, but have seen more leaks of the new Tacoma, and none of the 4R.

Would not be surprised if they release the next Gen Tacoma before the 4R since they will be sharing the same TNGA platform. Tacoma sales almost double the 4R, so from a manufacturing and efficiency standpoint I can see them doing the Tacoma first. Especially if they plan on having the Tacoma and 4R share many components like they used to, or like how they are with the Tundra / Sequoia.

We can’t get the Land Cruiser 300, just a Lexus, so instead we get the Special Ed Cousin, the Sequoia.

Toyota says that no one’s going to pay $80,000 for a Land Cruiser, but I’m sure some special edition Sequoias will cost just that.

I’m not a huge fan of this look. It reminds me of a Ford Explorer police vehicle. Long live Gen 5! :D
