Simple, effective - holds 8" tablet. Magnet kit comes with small metal plate that attaches to back of phone or, in my case, a tablet. If you look closely I applied a 7" long piece of foam weatherstripping under the tablet just to keep it stable (hardly noticeable) ..

Used same mount for my phone. I did however end up having to add a small aluminum plate with sticky-back tape to help convince mount to stay in place and yes, I could have done a better job cosmetically... It was summer, it was hot and I just wanted the damn thing to stay in place - and it has.

I am curious why you need a mount now. With android auto or car play you should be able to leave it in the console. Right now I plug my phone in and lay it in the slot between the cup holders. Tomorrow my android auto wireless fob should come in. I'll probably put it in the console then.

I tried using a magnetic mount but summers here have decided it's not for me. I like the idea of the ICS but hesitate to have anything blocking my view.

I'm curious what people use their phones screen for while driving. GPS? -- thats the only thing I could think of, but the screens quite small for that

mounted a RAM mount on the side of the center dash. works well for me. for a less permanent approach, we got a ProClip mount for my wife's Pilot, it's really solid as well D3OdZZtnM6tMNf4elYnvPrkWQTk9oSvhqhtgd5lo_e4e461cc6a0113ca7a15fb0e316eec0693b0a482.jpg

Depends on the phone. I have a Note10+ and the screen is adequate for maps and texts. At night, dark mode works great.

Quick picture, I need to detail clean when it gets warmer.
Gives me view at eyelevel. I may need to change this in the future if I add a radio.

I have one of these. It is currently just below the left AC knob, but I have had it in other spots. Attaches with double stick tape, simply set your phone on it and it locks, a gentle lift removes it, zero hassles. Neither the phone or the mount has ever fallen off.

I use mine for some countermeasures (Radar and a laser jammer) as well as some other useful apps.

I always preferred the phone over Car/Apple play, but car play certainly is nice. But nowhere near as capable or robust as a smartphone. So running both it is!

RAM 'diamond" base. the round base may or may not be a better choice. ABLVV85Iiw-YCTb2kCOk2md9nbv3nvtqnYtMp3M-_d64dafb4bf0d38025a2ede4bc047dce8b9eb884b.jpg

I also have this and have enjoyed it the last year plus. I have had to put it back on, the vent clip has slipped off, but I don’t blame the holder, but the installer. I’m in process of upgrading to have a more permanent ball to mount on.

Are you able to measure the ball mount in mm that attached to the phone holder?

I have my iPhone 15 pro max on just the apple mag safe in a ram mount holder. The 14 pro max stayed up just fine not trails, but the 15 falls often. Apple silicone cases on both.

The real problem is when it falls on the rago console mount below and shatters the glass but thankfully that's only happened a few times
