She finally did it. The wife just tboned a landscape truck. Our beloved limited 2018 Rav4 Hybrid is manggled. All bags popped. I thought the Rav4 was the last Toyota I had to shop but here I am again buying a car.

We narrowed down to a 2022 Offroad Premium with KDSS, Lunar rock.

Every dealer I called and stopped by have this "market adjusted" add-on. When I offered to pay MSRP they laughed.

Being new here please forgive me if this is a repetative post but I hope you guys can point me to any lead to a honest no bullshit dealer who would work with us to get our dream truck. I understand in this market it's pretty tough to get any discounts on a 4R but I can't do these market adjusted bulls.

(Also do you think if I'd wait to the year end, Would Toyota throw in some big incentives to get rid of this last model year, or the demand is so strong they wouldn't really care enough to even do that incentive. That's how we've got the Rav4 for $5000 under MSRP)

    TIA, John T

    Our totalled Rav4.

The culprit (who gave the wife 2 secs to stop) crossed the road to get to the gas station on the other side.

Sorry to hear this, hope everyone is OK.

In addition to the MSRP thread above, you can check this one out to get a feel for cost and order/delivery dynamics. We ordered new since we can wait and didn't want to pay over MSRP. Our sales rep said he feels terrible for people who need a car now - there just isn't any available inventory and used cars are selling over new. Anyone needing a vehicle now due to circumstances similar to yours are in a tough spot.

Anecdotally from what I've seen in New England, you're likely to have more luck finding an available RAV4/Highlander than a 4R.

Thank you. Wife is starting to feel the pains coming on so she's seeing the docs today.

NJM insurance sucks at customer service if anyone cares to know.

Just called Fitzgerald MD. Sounded like a standup dealer.
Inventory is crazy low. May be they're doing something right

I got my ORP at Johnston's Toyota in Middletown NY for MSRP. Ask for Kelvin, he's a good guy. You might have to wait a few months to get what you want though.

Glad you're wife is OK. Hopefully your insurer gives you a good valuation on the Rav4.

So just to report back from today's round.

That list with MSRP dealers...right on. Most are low inventory but who isn't.

Even with the shamed dealers with $5000 markups. A few were desperate enough to call me back and said if they do MSRP, would you come down today and close the deal.

Lesson learned: Shop around, You'd never know who's will call back to make a deal. A couple days left in the month and there isn't enough quota, they will crack.

If you want to travel......Central Maine Toyota. No markup, no nonsense. Bought a Tacoma recently and it was the easiest purchase I have made. There was no up sell, wrote a check and left.

Glad to hear this, I’ve just recently placed a deposit with them. However, they are not straight MSRP, as was offered a LR Pro, I didn’t want, but my sister in law did. 5k market adjustment. I have been told that’s the only one they are marking up.

Congrats. If it was mine I would start taking pics from the dealer all the way home...lol. Feels like a first born.
