First I need to make a correction. The hardware is almost the same between Max vs Vivid vs Scout. Vivid and Scout have dual band WiFi while the Max 10 is 2.4 GHz only. You can see this information on Dasaita.com and I verified with a chat to Dasaita.

I cannot speak to UI differences on the Vivid. I see people who upgraded their Max10 to Vivid10 had problems. See Reddit. For me, Max10 seems like the way to go. I’m going to give the launcher jmperez64 showed us a try.

KCdude - I look at both Amazon and direct from Dasaita.com. I was told by Dasaita.com chat “it will take 6-8 days send to US“. What was your experience with shipping the CTH T9?

I’m still not ready to finalize the purchase. Mostly because I’m too busy to install a new head unit. I have some work to finish on my 4Runner before I replace the head unit. Have you made a decision on HD, 1280 x 720 or 1280 x 480.

As I see it, Dasaita has official stores at Dasaita.com, Amazon, and eBay. In general Dasaita.com has the best pricing followed by eBay then Amazon.

Amazon returns from Amazon direct are easy. Note sure of Dasaita return policy on Amazon.

eBay has a money back guarantee if description is wrong, part is damaged etc. you go thru a few week arbitration unless the seller takes care of the problem themselves. Plus Dasaita has 30 day return policy where we pay shipping. Some head units are out of Kentucky? and some are out of China. I would do more research on return shipping.

Can someone please tell me what i'm missing in this image??? Where is the compass? I've stared at this for literally 10 minutes and I feel really stupid.

Also this thread has inspired me..one question; how does this unit connect to the internet? i didn't quite understand whether you have to have hotspots turned on with your android/iphone or how its able to get 4G. Do you have to buy a separate phone plan & sim?

I believe Crossfit4Runner point is the compass is not present after replacing his head unit with the Dasaita. CrossFit has a 2018 TRD Off Road Premium. His photo is taken after he installed his Dasaita head unit.

On the 2010 - 2014, there is a question if installing the Dasaita head unit results in the compass no long being present in the instrument cluster. With these model years, the compass is above the head unit.

As far as internet, this unit does not have a SIM card, so you have to use your phones hotspot to connect to the internet. I currently use an obd2 device called a Sprint Drive which automatically connects to the headunit when I turn on the car. Pretty sure other phone services offer something similar. I pay $25/month for this service for unlimited data and hotspot. Up to 8 devices can connect to this hotspot. Only issue I hate about this device is that it turns off 10 minutes after shutting off the engine. Others have suggested getting the cheapest android phone and using tasker for auto connect and just leaving the phone connected to one of your USB ports in the glove compartment.

I know this is an old post, but how did you mount your radar detector in your dash?

For those who upgrades to aftermarket head unit, does your remote start function still working?

I by accident enabled a password on start up and have no idea where it is located in settings to turn off. Does anyone know?

did you try a reset with the reset button top right? You might have to email and ask dasitia.

Do you have the password to get in? If so, try searching in the factory settings. Have not seen that password option either.

I think this was it. I also ended up resetting the unit and all good now.

Just a little fyi update. Mine unit is starting to act up. It’s locking up about every other car start. I’m having to use the reset button and it will work for a couple more days. Right now the CarPlay is out weighting the aggravation but it’s getting close.
I’m gonna do a factory reset and try a software reinstall to see if that helps.

Thanks for the update. I haven’t had to perform a reset on mine yet and have had no issues, but I drive probably 6 times a week or so since I work from home

In the stock radio app there doesn't appear to be an option to "tune", only seek and presets. It would be nice if the right dial was a tune knob (.2 increments) instead of just jumping between presets. Any way to change this? I don't see any settings in the app.

I don’t think most of us use the radio because it’s so bad. I know I gave up on it and just use apps to tune to local radio stations.

I installed this radio app. It works and looks great, better than the stock app that came with the Dasaita. Someone on the T9/T10 forum created it if I'm correct. You might want to give it a try if you listen to radio. I occasionally listen to the radio and use this app. Both AM/FM work great. At least in my experienc.

There is a free version of the app for you to try out. If you like then you can purchase the "+" version for full access to the options.

I always thought it was a antenna issue. The way factory and bidirectional antenna and they only grab one side.

It very well could be. Not an expert on radio. My experience with the Dasaita radio app was crappy. My talk radio station is on AM and was unlistenable on the Dasaita app. It now comes in nice and clear with the Nav+ app. Location could be an issue as well. My suggestion is to try the free version. I did and was sold.

I must say it did improve my radio stations. I’ll drive around for a couple of days to test it before I buy it.

Pre-installed radio app on the Dasaita has been fantastic for me. Likely location dependent I'd guess.

Has anyone gotten Android Auto to work with the Dasaita head unit? CarPlay works perfectly fine with zlink but Android Auto isn't connecting even with a cable.

I believe Android Auto does not work wirelessly in this unit. Not sure though, but I was able to connect through one of the USB ports. It only works with one of them though. The oem port by the lighter should be the data port, but that did not work. I then tried the 2 that I placed in the glove compartment and that worked. I use an iPhone, so don’t really remember what I did as I was trying things out and used a friends phone. Make sure you have Android Auto installed on your phone.
