Hey Guys need some help figuring out what I have going on with my manual Trans on my 86 4runner. I have what looks like an oil leak coming out around the boot where the slave cylinder goes into the housing. Is that how that is supposed to be or is the boot supposed to seal that off?? I also have a leak in front of the transmission so is that the front seal that's leaking?? I've done a lot of my own work on my trucks but never worked with a manual transmission before. Just need to know for sure what is leaking and what I need to do about it.

Woof, looks like you might have a bad rear main seal.

The bell housing shouldn't have any oil/grease or anything in it. That boot on the arm is just to keep dirt and dust out.

Well that's what I was worried about. It hasn't been leaking bad enough to really notice it on the concrete until the other day I had the rear end jacked up on one side to work on the suspension and it started leaking real bad. Funny thing is once I put the truck back down off the jacks it quit dripping from the bell housing. Hasn't leaked in 12 hours as of now!

I bet it was all pooled in the bottom of the bell housing, when you lifted the truck up it dumped everything out. I am surprised it was coming out of the fork boot, there must have been quite a bit in there.

It will probably end up making the clutch fail if oil gets splashed up between the clutch and flywheel.

I'm having the exact same issue. Any update?
Huge black liquid leak around slave cylinder boot, and light transmission fluid leak around that seal.
