Hi Everyone, New user here! Really trying to get a sense of what my 4Runner is worth.

Even though the used car market is kind of crazy right now, Toyota's have always sold for a premium. I'm considering offering my 4Runner for sale, but I'm not sure its value. I don't trust the valuation of KBB/Edmunds/etc. with a rig like this because the 4Runner community has such an impact on "trending" prices. With that said, I would be very grateful for any input from the community. Below are a few photos and information that I think would be helpful in determining a fair value. If there is more info I should include, please let me know. Thanks in advance to everyone. (P.S. I'm very sorry if this is not the correct forum to post this.)

    Year: 2005
    Model: Limited V8
    Mileage: ~127k
    Title: Clean
    Owners: 2 (including me)
    VIN: JTEB....

    - I have service records for the lifetime of the vehicle.
    - All stock.
    - Runs & drives great.
    - No rust.
    - 4Lo engages/disengages flawlessly.
    - TPMS Light blinking. (Toyota Stealership wants $85 to diagnose, then another $160 for each sensor replacement.)
    - Hood had sun damage at time of purchase, I had Maaco repaint to match existing.
    - There is an ~3" circular ding over the gas latch. (Paintless dent removal companies quoted me $400 to pull it.)
    - Clean interior. (Less a few carpet stains and seat wear.)

**Once again, thank you all in advance. I want to reiterate that I'm still only considering to sell it. Once a decision is made though, I will of course return the favor by offering it here first!**

Go to Carvana.com and enter your info for a quote. They are offering me 26K for a 2014 Xterra with 38K miles.

    Pros:
    - low mileage
    - v8
    - limited
    - no mods (blank slate)
    - no rust

Only real negative is it's a 2005, so on the older side of 4th gen.

4Runner pricing seems to be fairly regional, in my opinion, here in the pacific northwest I could see it going 11-15K, depending on how long you want to wait.

Boy they really low balled that. They must have already bought all they needed. I'd better not run my Xterra thru there again.

$10k easily. I'd list it on all the local places like Offerup and CL for $12-13k and let people talk you down. My 05 V8 4runner was a rocket, it was 2wd but man it was fast. Miss that truck, same color.

I paid 10K for an 05 Limited with 257k on it. PO took very good care of the truck and maintenance was done on schedule. Rig drives great and I am happy with it. Stratosphere Blue, no leaks and everything works. I have added a 2" coil spring lift with new shocks and a Victory4X4 roof rack to the truck. On last trip to and from Oregon averaged 19mpg! Not bad for a V8!

Does it have a rear locker? If so, oh man it isn’t worth much. Out of the kindness of my heart I will take it off you for a little over that carvana quote…lol

I believe the V8's came with a center lock, not rear.

off the top of my head, maybe $10-14k pending a few things

    -pics of the under carriage?
    -notable rust spots?
    -any mods to speak of?
-water pump, timing belt, thermostat done yet?
    -OEM battery?
-other wear items - brake pads, fluids, bushings. anything done?
-status of the pinch welds all around?
    -regular or JBL stereo?

Others might chime in but there are definitely considerations thatll sway the price one way or the other. help us help you

Looking at the added Pictures just clean the battery top up nice so it looks good give the engine compartment a good cleaning so it shows well then Dig out any and all past maintenance records put all in order you should do well to get a good asking price in today's market.

As for Water pump and thermostat Most "good" shops replace them at the same time the timing belt is done on the 5.7 engine.

    For general information:
-water pump and thermostat should probably be done soon by you, or noted in the sale. Mile/age wise its due, and those failing can grenade the engine if left unchecked.
-you have an ACDelco battery, OEM I believe is Panasonic.
-diff fluids should be drained and filled as needed, though a decent rule of thumb is 20-50k miles after the first swap, depending on how hard you drive/tow/etc.
-pinch welds are the welds that create the edge of your doors, body, rear hatch, and the like.

Now with all that said, it all looks pretty good, though Im personally curious why your front drive shaft spider looks pink haha. Anyway like some of the fellow posters say you're bone stock, and people like having a blank slate to start from. Also, pricing is definitely regional, so the range a few of us have given is decent to start from, maybe $10-15k. Pick a starting point and see where it gets you.

Thank you for the thoughtful response. I'm currently reviewing the service records, and I misspoke in my earlier response. It was the REAR diff that was serviced. Not the front. I took it to my shop and requested a diff service but did not think to specify both Front and Rear... Any idea why only the rear would be serviced with this request? Also, I've included an enlarged photo of the "pink" that I think you're referring to. Looking at this photo, I'm not sure if the rust is a concern here.

I will definitely attempt to track down the service record for the timing belt to confirm. Thank you!!

    [edit]
I found the service record for the timing belt. It looks like the also did the water pump, but there is no mention of the thermostat.

    I would tend
It would surprise me if the thermostat was not done since it is easier to do at the same time the water pump is done and belt I would say that it was done at that point.

The "pink" paint mark is something I see on many many Toyota's it is done at the factory and I see it in many critical to do correctly locations and has been checked to verify that the job of assembly has been done per specifications

I bought mine. Pretty much identical to yours last year for 10k. With 135k miles. It needed timing belt done. So +$1k. In some areas you could get upwards of $15k. Depends on your market. I will offer you $11k local sale if you sell it. At least my brother will buy it over there lol. He lives in Vegas for the next few months
