2006 V8 limited 4Runner with 135K miles. Now my front defroster don't work. I read about this and it appears its the blower motor behind the glove box. Curious how much Toyota will charge for this repair? Is see aftermarket parts at $50 but can't find any videos showing the repair step by step. I talked to my neighbor and he is starting to get a click noise from his glovie. This is exactly how mine started a year ago. Also curious if there is a recall for this problem??? Richie

I just replaced my blower motor, took about 15 minutes including gathering tools. 4 screws and one connector.

Hi, I had a problem with my blower motor a while back. It was noisy and not much force even when on high.
Didn't take it completely apart but looked where the cabin filter sits right above it. Mice had chewed up the
cabin filter and built a nest in the barrel fan. Cleaned it out with a vacuum and oiled the barrel fan spindle.
Works fine but I hate mice. Wife and I go camping a lot so might of happened then.
This may or may not be related to or be the cause of your problem but just thought I'd mention it.
    07 V6 and runs like a top.

thanks for the response. I went ahead and replaced the blower motor but the noise persists. Problem is the airflow only blows straight out and I have no defrost or floor airflow. Looks like it could be a servo, but not sure how to look at it to see if this is the problem. I was told there are a couple of servos and depending where it is, the whole dash needs to come apart. I also read to can look at it and if the white gear is sticking out you can simply push it back in. Is there some way to look at it easily or get to it? 2006 4Runner V8

I'm sorry I have no answer for that, but I'm sure there are many mechanics or repair enthusiasts on this site who can help you out.
Congrats on replacing the blower motor though, you went farther than I would have.
I look forward to reading further post in regards to this.
