Sounds like a trip to the dealer would be needed for warranty work.

Yes it is under warranty but as I am in sales and have to drive 6 days a week Toyota does not do loaners and everything I bring it in the dealership is packed and they want to keep it surely this has to have happened to someone else what did you do to fix it fuse under the hood is good and the only thing I found is where something pushed up against the plastic cover of one of the rear 2 speakers on the back hatch

I hear you everything is backed up now.

I have an accord as an everyday car and it’s making a clicking noise in park while pressing the brake which is odd.

I have friends at the dealer and they can’t even get me in due to staff shortages and too many out with Covid.

We better get used to our new norms of lowering our expectations on service and turn around times and product shortages. It’s almost like being in a 3rd world country now. Thankfully I have extra cars to drive.

have you pulled the head unit yet? Check all the connections.

Me, I would have a dealership look at it, I understand that it is a hassle, but it would be worth it IMHO.

I understand and agree I just don't see how anything on a vehicle much less a Toyota would have problems like I've had so new for instance my passenger window was having weird issues sliding off of the track somehow but then it corrected itself before I brought it in plus other connectivity issues
I trade in my 2020 tundra 4 Dr big Boi with the 5.7 in it flat beige w black leather and the built in gun safe for the 4 runner because I wanted better mileage but that ended up being the dumbest thing I could have possibly done

how much better is the mileage going from a Tundra to the 4Runner? I think you traded for the wrong vehicle if you wanted higher mpg.

This just happened to me. No warranty any more. Anyone find a fix? I’m about to just replace the whole head unit

Check all of them fuses first before automatically replacing components.

Try to keep it simple at first, Hopefully it will end up being something minor.

Did anyone figure out the no sound issue? I have a 2021 4runner nightshade. One morning out of nowhere sound went out. Checked fuses, unhooked battery and reset radio multiple times. I'm at 50k miles. I have not went to dealership yet as I was hoping it was start working again.

I tried the pause button. No luck.
Guess I should have bought the extended warranty.

54,000 miles today. This happened to me about 3 months ago and it’s been a huge inconvenience. Starts up with sound, but then everything cuts out rendering the stereo, navigation (visual fine), and ability to make calls hands free (a nightmare for a public service worker). I have had little to no capacity to get to a dealership- when I called about it, I learned the extended warranty I bought was not reflected as such at their end. So I have some digging to do back at home (there is NO way I would have paid a few thousand extra for oil changes when my husband does all of that, but I might have been idiot enough in my fatigue to sign something that didn’t appropriately represent the deal presented to me which we agreed to). Dealer said they’ve never heard of this issue. My son works in a Ford/Toyota dealership (for Ford), and asked the Toyota mechanics there who said they’ve never heard of it. But yet I can easily find the issue online . We’ve already been through the fuses, unplugged battery, and I happened upon mute button one day. Was so excited thinking I’d resolved the issue- not it. I love the 4Runner!!! But I previously had a 2014 until I bought this which was pretty glitchy (the only reason I went with that warranty).

Welcome. If you're in Utah, I'm more than happy to help remove the radio and take a quick look. If it's something simple like a loose connector, it might save the hassle of a trip to the dealer.

I’m having the same problem, no sound, and volume control does nothing, whether I try listening to FM, Bluetooth or CarPlay. The driver, steering wheel buttons work to skip a song, (which shows up on display), change radio station etc. but no audio and the volume control doesn’t work, on the steering wheel or the head unit. I checked fuses, also pulled the head unit as someone above suggested, unseated & reseated all the connections, still have no sound coming from the speakers.

    Any ideas out there??

I made a date w dealership, will post on here what comes of it, I am out of warranty by a few miles, fully expecting exceptional service at a fair price (sarcasm!)
