So i pulled over on the side of the freeway to take an emergency call today.. once i attempted to get back on i fell in a hole going 5mp at most… popped tire, chipped rim, messed up alignment, and all the sensors are on.. its showing Pre-Collision System Malfunction. How do I reset the his system.. i already got the truck align and its driving normal.. but these lights are annoying and need it fixed asap dealership has no appointments until a few days from now..

When they do the alignment they need to reset your zero position. Well at least that is what Les Schwab told me when I had them do my alignment and I had the Christmas tree of lights as I drove off. Whoever did your alignment can help fix it.

Damn, that sucks. Hopefully it’s that alignment zero position thing…

Is it in limp mode? Or can you still drive normally with your pcs system warnings on. Kinda weird that pCS warnings are getting tripped, but who knows all these interdependencies between systems nowadays…

Sorry to hear, that must have been one heck of a pot hole.

Are those the 20” rims? Probably the low profile tires didn’t help either.

Shhh, nobody tell him that the 4runner is speaking to him…his sport knows an off-road is the one for him…poor guy, he’s already struggling enough with the possibilities….

    We’re here for you man.

Finally got the car in at onetoyota of Oakland after having me wait 4 hours they say is a stereing column sensor its broken which is causing all the sensors to go crazy.. which i don’t believe.. now i have to leave my truck over night and because it was caused by road hazard the warranty does not cover it and the part alone supposedly cost over $500.. i told the put it back together I’ll fix it and they say the car is too far along and also leaking coolant which ive never noticed.. had him walk me to the truck that they said was too far along taken apart to see it just parked in a stall and didnt seem to be even touched.. smfh… so it went from just a simple reset of system to $1500 in out of pocket cost or an insurance claim with a $500 deductible… this is some bs.. all from a flat tire

That sucks!!!!! To be fair though, any hit that is hard enough to damage a rim is closer to a collision than it is to a flat. Get a quote, call your insurance and get that thing fixed up right, every single last thing that got damaged. Make the deductible worth the hassle.

Thats the plan.. if the numbers are right it might not leave the dealership.. lol seen a sr5 4wd that if the numbers are right i might leave with..

from what ive read i think as long as it has ATrac im good lol all the trd goodies are good but not really needed and it will not hurt as bad once it does give in hopefully 400,000 miles lol

I should add, just to make you feel better…. These vehicles are tough. Ive seen a stock tacoma with basically the same suspension absolutely nail a hidden tree stump while we were on a trail ride. I was behind it, we were doing 25-30mph when he hit. From my perspective, it looked like that damn truck hit an IED!!! (Ok, fine, I get more dramatic everytime I tell the story)….

But seriously, I thought for sure the front end was going to be ripped to pieces. Nope. All he ended up needing, was an alignment after driving home a couple of hundred miles.

Of course, the issue with yours was the 20”wheels. That much weight on thin tires means the shock is pushed upstream very directly. If it’s breaking shit in the steering column, that tells you the suspension and arms/spindle is stout, but nothing was able to absorb any energy. It’s gotta end up somewhere. Your Off-Road awaits ;)

Nice! Don’t rush though, be cool man. SR5 is a solid option, you’re not going to go wrong with that. But take your time, look around, do it with no regerts.

At the time of purchase I bought 2 warranties that were suggested by the salesman to be the best.. upon reading them now that i need them to cover the cost.. the only way these damn warranties kick in is if the car breaks down while it sits.. smfh.. everything voids it and the “it doesnt cover list” is the whole back page damn near.. good thing i have 60 days to cancel..

Similar thing happen to my friend last week hitting a curb due to ice. It was a Subaru though.

Here's what he did. He ran with spare tire for 2 days and show the car to his mechanic. Mechanic show everything needs to be replaced. Now its all good.

So I suggest use the spare tire for few days until you get an appointment with dealer or your trusted mechanic and let them diagnose. I would not try to pull fuses and use scan tools try to clear codes. That seem to be a big hit. Calm down.

Purchased an ORP and a Venture from them and at least on the sales side, they were great.
Also, that seems like the sort of incident that insurance might be needed but should be “comprehensive” or whatnot.
