Need new front skid plate to simplify oil change?

However, that installation was on a non-KDSS 4Runner. I'm pretty sure the braces are different on one with KDSS.

 

Translation: we have a socket and wrench to remove the 4 bolts, and let the front skidplate hang by the tabs like it’s supposed to. Afterword we’ll use an impact wrench (set to eleventy thousand) to reinstall the bolts.

So he is right, they have a tool, and you dont need to remove the skidplate all the way (99.5 percent is not all the way).

 

Fyi, i posted a link in post #33, of Saker's write up. Really makes pulling the stock TRD plate simple. Life changing, really.

Here it is again...

 

I installed that skid plate this evening I think what is happening is the hardware they are providing is incorrect if you leave the frame supports on and ditch the spacers the rear bolts up but then I'm going to need to get some longer bolts from the hardware store for the front. But it should all work with the frame supports in. I am talking about non kdss.

 

Sooo I already bent the skid plate..... Can I straighten it somehow.... ideas?

I have dents in the vent area of my TRD skid plate. Also lost the D.
Thinking I'll take the T off as well leaving me with just the R for my last name.

The vents suck up mud as well - really dumb design.

 

It would be nice if the TRD designation on Toyota oem products was designed more for protection and functionality, rather than just for looks...
