Not from NC, but was there for a quick trip this morning. Had to run to Asheville, so I decided to drive up Hurricane Creek Road on the way back home.

Great pics @Murph ! Asheville is fun. I have been wanting to go to hurricane creek for a while but just haven't had the time. I need to soon

Thanks, @ajohnson. I wish I could've spent more time there. I had to make a quick there and back trip to deliver something.

Surprisingly those are iPhone pics. I'm kicking myself for not grabbing my Nikon this morning.

"The Twenty second day of September, in the year Fourteen-hundred... Bag End, Bagshot Row, Hobitton, West Farthing: The Shire, Middle Earth... The third age of this world... There and Back Again: A Hobbit's Tale, by Bilbo Baggins. Now; Where to begin... Ah yes, Concerning Hobbits."

Been working on a final research project for my Senior (British) Literature class. It had to be post-WWII Britain topic, so I did the Influence of J.R.R. Tolkien on Led Zeppelin (including some influences that Zeppelin had cast on works pertaining to the Lord of the Rings, thus Peter Jackson's Fellowship intro). I can't stop finding these Lord of the Rings/Hobbit references anywhere now. The fact that the opening of the Fellowship is the first thing I thought of is kind of sad. Either way, you've got a beautiful truck. Just thought I'd drop some LOTR references on you guys. :p

One of my favorite movie series! And the area had kind of a Hobitton feel to it.
Thanks for the compliment on the truck too!

Well, the shire does seem like a good place to wheel, very hilly, their "roads" aren't even gravel or cobble stone (they're more like Moab lol), and hobbits holes would be cool to flex on top of. To middle earth we go!

Sparta, NC here. North Central NC right on the Virginia line. Great twisty asphalt and back roads. I am big into motorcycling and love the area but it is a social black hole.

I am picking up my new SR5 Premium XP tomorrow. Black on black. I can't wait! Got it from Victory Toyota in North Wilkesboro. Great place to buy!!

I go to Uwharrie quite a bit. My family has a house on high rock lake. I need to finish my '87 runner so I can hit the trails soon, I have been unmotivated lately though

South Charlotte here. I figured we could use this thread for getting input on local repair shops.
I do alot of my own repairs, but if you ever need a CV axle rebuild, strongly recommend Axles Unlimited in Charlotte off 74. The have been rebuilding for over 30 years and send all around the US. They rebuild them stronger than OEM. Do not trade your OEM axles for garbage ones at a parts store, have them rebuilt.

Also really like Scott Clark Toyota service dept. Fair and honest, if something is out of your skill range.

And yes my 4runner becomes the pollenmobile this time of year.
