    Hello.
I have a 2000 2wd limited 4runner I recently lost a front wheel bearing witch was fun to replace. Apon reassembling I realized there was a crush nut that pre loads the hub to the bearing I have searched every for what the torque spec is for it an I have came up with nothing. Does anyone have an idea what I need to torque it to ?

Tim does a very detailed video of this job.

I have had the steering knuckle off my car but I can't picture in my mind what you are referring to. Can you find a picture on the internet?

The Axle nut is supposed to be torqued to 174 ft-lbs.

That's the only nut I know of that would affect the wheel bearing.

He has a 2wd drive so no CV axle nut. His bearing is pre-loaded using a lock nut on the back of the bearing just like a rig with manual hubs would. In the video below, the FSM manual calls for a spec of 205 ft-lbs for that hub shaft locknut.
