When I clicked the link it automatically put in 92 4runner so I'm gonna guess that it copied your search over as well lol. Based off your pics though I'm pretty sure your tires aren't 225/75/R15s so you might want to start your search over again

On another note I hear BFG KO2's are pretty good. IIRC @RedRunner87 has them on his and he lives in CO too. Good luck!

Another tire to consider is the Cooper A/TW. Its an All Terrain that excels in winter conditions.

I lived in New England and Maine for 20 years, 1960-80 and, whatever tire you get, be sure you can have them studded if you are in an area where you may get icing. The Coopers look good.

KO2's in the snow are the bees knees. I often ran 2WD in pretty bad snowfall and it handled it like a champ

I was talking to my boss about them and he said they're really soft and wear quickly. Any experience with that?

I drive my 4Runner more in the winter till I get a decent AWD car. So miles won't rack up very fast.

You know what's going on with my runner, plus once that's all resolved I have a set of Goodyear Wranglers in the basement I bought a while back so I won't be buying tires for awhile

Those will last a good bit. I'm just waiting for things to align so I can get another vehicle to drive during winter. Hate putting on the miles on the Runner.

I'm not so sure. The tread wear rating on those is like 300.

Oh and if you buy a Subaru I will track you down and murder you. One of those POS's wrecked my Firebird :annoyed:

I was talking about the KO2's but I've run the Coopers as well and I think they are both fantastic tires.

Kind of depends on where we move. If we move to where I want to, 4Runner it is.

Huh I could've sworn I remember you talking about her wanting to sell the Dodge for a jeep. Glad I'm wrong though!

Back to the thread topic though, those KO2's look so sweet. I must question that hanging turn signal though lol
The 2.8 is not a bad engine, especially when they're fuel injected, though the bigger engines are always more fun. Do you know how the gasket blew?

I had a thermostat that stuck closed and driving around town I didn't notice the temp gauge climbing until I heard the bubbling of the overflow coolant tank (stupid 19 y.o. me :frustrated:). Changed the thermostat but I think the warping was done, it wasn't too long after that when the head gasket failed and I shrouded myself in white smoke while sitting at a stop light. Tore it down and it was warped really bad un unsalvageable :(. Sold it for $2500 and moved to a lifted chebby truck for a while. Had a friend buy a Camaro about the same year with a 2.8 that was seized for $400, we pulled it and rebuilt it, bastard still has it and it runs really well it just makes me miss mine.

I don't know how this thread got away from winter tires, but as an old bugger who lived in Ontario for 20 years and then Connecticut and Maine for another 20, I recommend any decent brand of winter tires with studs, lots of studs. - Ted

You are correct, but we are trying to buy a house and she got the Dodge for free. Hard to sell something that was free lol. Wiring up the turn signals to the lights below the headlights this week.
