I just have the 10AMP fuse running to the ACC spot in the cabin fuse box. Your lights came with a 10/15amp combo? Can you take a pic so I can see what you’re talking about? Does it fit into the ACC spot? If so, try it out. Might still work.

I’m definitely not electrical savvy. I don’t know what issues this may cause with the rest of the electrical system. It does work though. Lights turn on/off with the car.

I’m not too sure if using the 10/15 combo will blow a fuse or cause electrical issues. I have had mine in the ACC slot and it has worked perfectly, no issues. Where did you buy the Raptor lights from? Maybe email them to ask just in case. Also, you can connect them to the main fuse box under the hood: Fuse slot 10INJ. I have my Alpharex Nova Headlights and Aiden James Fog Bezel lights in that 10INJ slot, so had to run my Raptor lights to the ACC slot.

Hey friends, I am hoping someone can help me. I ordered the Taco Vinyl Grille Raptor Lights 3 set and it appears that I need to supply my own 10 amp fuse and ground connector. Is there a specific 10 amp fuse I need to purchase? I don’t want to screw this is going to be the first mod I do myself on my ‘21 TRD Pro so naturally I am a bit nervous about the install and I want to insure that I do it right.

Just to clarify, the set comes with an add a fuse and I need to remove that 10 amp fuse that’s already in the INJ location and I need to add another.

FYI if you get your free raptor lights with pro grille purchase from 4Runner lifestyle, the raptor lights are weak (not a shocker since it was afterall, free) LED’s dim in the middle of each light, and it doesn’t look great. 4Runner lifestyle sent replacement raptor lights, but I’m anticipating having the same issue.

the middle light seems to be holding up, but is starting to fade in the middle, and the outside two are losing it as well...

When connecting the dual fuse combo in the engine fuse box, the fuse box cover now does not close properly. I was intending to plug it in the INJ fuse, but am open to others for the raptor lights. It's frustrating to find YouTube videos doing the installation and you find your ride layout is completely different aka 2021 SR5 engine fuse box. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Boy, reading through this thread makes this mod sound very risky when you are tapping circuits in a fuse box. The OPs experience sounds scary.

Now with the 21 and 22 MY with all the TSS stuff, I’d be even more careful proceeding.

Maybe a dedicated line from the battery, with its own switch, would be safer. That way, when the raptor lights fail, you dont have to worry it will mess with other systems

Might be a Stupid question, but do I buy a add a fuse and combine the ACC fuse (piggy back system) with the raptor light fuse and plug it into the ACC port or remove the ACC fuse and just plug in the raptor lights?

Its plugged into the 10 INJ under the hood, been working well so far past month and a half.
2020 SR5. It's always on when car is running.

How is the light output? I'm looking for some bright smoked white ones.

I dont think these are about light output, basically cosmetic. Think marker lights.

Here it is with all the lights on. It basically adds to the daytime marker lights, not for road illumination purposes. Mine are smoke gray when off.

Agreed. Maybe I wasn't using the correct words. Here are mine below and I hate how you can see the 'lines' of the LEDs verses the whole assembly being lit up. Maybe the Amber ones look more 'full'? Or maybe in photos they look more 'full'?..idk. For ex, in the pic from Kfish above, his raptors look 'full' verses mine.

If it looks full then it's just how the phone camera exposed the photo. Here's another shot properly exposed, you can see the line lol

I think the full amber cover would give it a more full appearance. It's not a big deal to me.

4runner lifestyle wrote back to me and suggested I piggy back on to the tail or the KDSS in the fuse box inside the cabin for my raptor lights. But I keep hearing everyone say ACC (which lowers the nav screen and all the electronics? Right? ) which is a better choice?

I removed my fuse for my running tail lights and plugged in the new fuse for the running tail lights. It has 2 slots with a 10 amp fuse in each slot. Now my raptor lights come on when my low beam and tail lights are on instead of them running once the car is started. I've had no issues but if anyone has a opinion if I did something wrong I always appreciate feedback. Besides that it runs and I have more control when I want them on.

    Interesting thread ..
    I too contemplating adding these.
My desire was to have them switched inside the cabin - ie on / off as i chose.

    came across this video
    https://youtu.be/RKZGNc4ez5M

Seems straightforward and just what im looking for. Has anyone done it this way? Any issues or concerns?

    thanks

i ordered from 4runner lifestyle too..i felt comfortable with the install having watching their install video..BUT

i went to put on yesterday and ran into the same issue with the cabin fuse box slots being different from the video..

mines came with, 2 10 amp fuse combo (like pictured above but his was a 10/15 combo..)

i removed the 7.5 fuse and plugged it in the ACC slot after reading through this thread.. originally had it in the inj fuse spot.the lights turn on/off while car is started.. no warning lights on the dash!

i hope this approach is ok..? thanks in advance..
