Guys...I have been doing some homework on the ceramic coatings such as Gtechniq Crystal Serum and much wanted some feedback from this forum on its use. I am especially interested in any issues long term with the coating use. Expensive but seeing a few vehicles with the coating made me take a second look at the products. Appreciate the feedback!

Do offroad through trees, and therefore your 4runner is going to get scratched?

Yep....you are right...but being a black one I was thinking how this might ease in the cleanup and overall protection of the black paint which has a tendency to so everything.

I purchased OptiCoat for mine and the clean up is great so far after weekend wheelin'. It is another layer of protection and increases the thickness of the finish so I am less concerned as I buff out scratches from trees.

I have experience with black. It's a career. My vette is sealed with Modesta.

Hi. Could you please share how your Opti-Coat has held up, or not? I am considering it for my new 4R.
    Thanks, kat

I had Opti-Coat Pro Plus done on my Audi 2 years ago and it's held up perfectly like the first day it was done. My 4R is getting it today, I'll gave pics tomorrow for you.

Important questions: Are you talking a professionally applied coating, one you can do your self or one of the numerous "spray on" (supposedly) ceramic coatings. There's a big difference between them.

Applied Black Fire ceramic coating from Auto Geek last week. Easy to apply and remove. I am happy with the results. Whether you buy a coating from Auto Geek or not, Auto Geek is a standup company. Great customer service.
