I need to change the wiring for the rear hatch. I bought a '99 and I have a '98. I didn't realize there were different plugs on the '99. How do I remove the '98 wiring and place it in the '99? I now understand that I should have found another '98...

If you trace out the wires to see what each one is for you could cut the plug plus a foot or 2 of wire off the old hatch and butt splice it on the new hatch wiring. This is assuming the equipment is the same.

Otherwise you can take everything completely out of the old hatch and install it in the new hatch.

Also, as opposed to crimping in butt splices, I prefer to solder and heat shrink splices in automotive wiring.
