I make decent amount of money and I'm fortunate to have a wife that does too. Life's short, everything we have stays here. I don't have kids or any big responsibilities. By the time my wife and I start trying to have kids, the truck will be paid off. In the meantime, I want to spend some time out in the mountains, deserts, etc. with my wife, our dog, and this truck. That's how I justified spending the money. By God's grace, all our bills get paid, we have food in our fridge and a roof over our heads. We live comfortably and I am beyond blessed. There's no right way to do life and you only get one! So let's make the best of it and enjoy our rigs!

More than welcome, any time :) I do hope you don't mind cats, though. We have 3, and you'll meet two, if you stop by. One, a 25 lbs cat, big sucker, is also the biggest chicken you ever saw. More than likely he'll hide the whole time :D

As to the F-4(Runner): Mine's very similar, indeed! I worked on the F-4 Phantom II my entire career, almost. They took me off to do some other stuff for while. It helps to be a professional Marksmanship Instructor :)
We're trying to keep our 99 Runner as original as possible. So far, all that's left to do is replace the radio antenna. REAL tough job, let me tell you. Heh!

You want to go a little farther back, let's say the F-9F Panther era, I have an 87 pickup, and 87 4Runner as well. Both the good old "Original Silver". I took the spoiler off my ex's Blazer, and mounted it on my 87. Looks cool as heck! I think 4Runners should all have spoilers on them.
    IMG_0350.jpg

Not the best picture, but you can see the lower edge of the spoiler, anyway.

    Have fun, all!

Not enough. It's good that I find the 4Runner comfy to sleep in, because with the real estate market the way it is, chances are I'll be living in it eventually.

I think that's pretty much everywhere. Unfortunately I have nothing to sell, so I would be buying my first home. Unfortunately I think the reality is that I'm priced out of the market, at least where I live in the Northeast.

Talking about long time ago; my first Honda was a dream 1966 and than a CB750 1969, later on CBR 1000, Goldwings; in between Triumph Tiger & Bonneville, Norton Commando, almost forgot Suzuki 500 in the early 1970. Actually, my first motorcycle was a Harley 1952 with suicide shift. I always came back to Honda.

    Talk to mama. :D

I bought one of those when I was stationed in Millington, TN the first time. Mine was the 2 stroke version of the 500. It was originally red, but it had faded over the years. I was the only Marine on base with a pink motorcycle. I tell ya, though, that thing would 1/4 mile nearly anything. That 2 stroke engine was quick! Top end wasn't much over 60 or so, but it got there right now.

I didn't have time to sell it when I left, so someone got a free bike. I hope they enjoyed it as much as I did...

Ah Millington... Those were the days. Did a couple of tours there, two as a student, one as an instructor. One of my shipmates had a pretty hot bike back in the day, too.

The opinion of not sharing income is fast changing. When we talk about things, we know what we should ask for or expect. This is increasing wages. Now is that good or not, that is debatable, but it is the biggest way of decreasing the gender pay gap.

Agreed, I have 3 Hondas, 02 400ex, 03 450fm Foreman , 2014 700-4 pioneer…..Yamaha is my 2nd choice, just sold my WR450 to get the Pioneer…..old people slamming into the ground inspired that.

Years(decades) ago i had a Honda CL350-teenager, 76 RD400…..ticket magnet. 76 Honda 550 smooth, 79 Suzuki 1000E fast, 1983 Honda Interceptor-gorgeous and finally a Honda ST1300-super smooth and fast, until I retired, promised the wife I would stop street riding.

2.15% for 6 years and 19,000 down got me a ‘reasonable’ monthly payment lol.

Chopping them up and not replacing until Paid off is what I did years ago, now if I can’t buy it cash I don’t get it. Except for my home and new vehicle. Dave ramsey on YouTube changed me haha, rice and beans.

Everyone's idea of "reasonable" is different. I think it depends on your whole budget. I wasn't spending much on rent when I bought mine, so I could afford a higher payment. Plus, I knew I wasn't about to buy an expensive house.

I just stopped buying toys and unnecessary things with them. I keep them in case I need them. The unfortunate part is that I moved last November, and am basically starting over from scratch. I was lucky to come across a bunch of freebie furniture and stuff but I've been spending a lot on household essentials. So, needless to say, not making a lot of progress yet.

I can see having to start from scratch defiantly putting a damper on things, if I didn’t have 2 incomes in my household & if I didn’t rack up the over time at my job like I do, I would not have a 4 runner that’s for sure. The security feeling I have though is if I ever fall on hard times or can’t make the payments, it holds its value pretty well and can get out of it. Everyone around me always has to have the newest phones, cloths, toys etc while I hold onto things for years and don’t ‘keep up with the Jones’s’ as they say. I’m scAred of debt. In today’s economy my paychecks are pretty shitty after deductions. Wish I could have hit that 200k button, but unfortunately I’m at the top of the list haha.

It's definitely a struggle right now. Fuel prices aren't helping, either.

I also take comfort in knowing that the 4Runner is worth a lot more than I still owe on it. And, I work in the trades, and we're always shorthanded, so I am fairly confident there will be work for the foreseeable future. Although, the way things are going, it could definitely slow down.

I also don't spend a lot of money trying to keep up with the Joneses. Heck, I don't even have cable (or satellite) TV. My biggest entertainment expense is probably fuel.

My credit cards give me money to buy things as long as I pay them off every month.

There’s really no reason not to take it.

especially if it’s like 3% on groceries.

I work in a chilled water plant, years ago people had to fight each other for the interviews and jobs, now we can’t get anyone at all. Lots of my overtime comes from short staff issues and the few older guys there that are man baby’s and cry and can’t put a wrench in there hand or walk around a campus because there ‘feet hurt’ lmao, that was a good excuse I got when I asked someone else if they can stay a extra few min to help a new Person out.
