    Hello folks!

Relatively new to the forum and 4Runners (coming from Land Rovers). Purchased my wife a '21 Venture back in February and doing most of the upgrades myself, and this forum has been a great resource (along with T4R).

So..., my wife got into a little skirmish with a parking garage column and grazed the right rear fender flare. Figured easy enough and could probably live with it for now. But if looking at replacing, I haven't found much online other than the "bolt on" Bushwacker or RDJ style flares.

It looks like the quarter panel portion (PN 75653A) is just held by some bolts and retaining clips. But anyone have experience or tips replacing the flare on the rear door (looks like PN 75741)? Trying to gauge level of effort or cost and minimizing risk of doing any damage during install. Looking like <$150 in primed parts + whatever cost to paint.

    Thanks!

I know its a lower ‘class’ body shop but ive always had good experiences with them. My wife had the same issue and I took it to maaco and they fixed it for $350. I looked at picking up an oem flare and getting it painted and in the end I felt like it wouldve cost at least 250-300 and my time is worth $50 in my book. They did a good job, its been over a year now and it looks perfectly good.

What ever you do, don’t take a plastic pry bar to it. Toyota metal and plastic is so thin, you’ll ding up the quarter panel.

Thanks @Rentroc & @Daytonaviolet ! $350 sounds about right, and the white shouldn't be too hard to match. Might be best option since a body shop would have to paint the flares anyways. Biggest concern DIY is damaging while trying to remove original. I already learned the hard way how thin the car's plastic trim was when trying to remove the front grille to replace w/ TRD Pro style.

Going to put this on lower priority behind getting lift and lo pro bumper installed.

There is a group in Texas that will color match stock replacement body parts and panels. Revemoto.

I’m considering the same for the door molding like yours. Mine is black. I may replace, but I’m holding off to learn more. Each molding piece is about $220 painted. Seems reasonable to me. Like many here, I’m concerned about removing without doing any harm.
let us know if you perform the switch out. good luck.

Plastidip it????? That’s what I would do. It’ll look like a Tacoma OR :notsure:

lol, I’m half tempted to do it now and I have no damage

    Edit. Or lie. It’s an off-road vehicle. “So there I was….pulling a jeep off a rocky cliff…”

Leave it, too many pristine shiny lifted 4Runners that have never seen dirt. You rubbed a tree on a tight trail.

OP, last thing from me….I’m with you . Got a nice Rock chip on my hood…well, it lifted the paint around it and has driven me crazy for weeks. I’ve come to the conclusion that I will get more. I live in the country and the truck is rarely clean because of it (I do a good wash once a month….twice if I have time.) You can’t even see it normally. Still is frustrating.

Sorry you have to deal with it
