It's not any worse than a Landcruiser. Trucks are expensive now. :notsure:

Somehow Land Cruisers seem like a bargain and that's saying something.

Not even thinking about the price, I have to get past the looks to dig into it’s value.

in this segment, GMs look better, especially the Z71.
I like the original one better:

I definitely don't think it looks as good as the original.

Looks much better than a 4Runner in Limited trim :boink:

    :crapstorm:

Wagoneer price is right in line with Suburbans and Yukons. Grand is right in line with Navigator and Escalade.

hemi engine - check (engine light) - see hemi tick - camshaft failure - class action in the US with thousands of failures
air suspension - check - see that in 3 years or less, especially in colder climates - similar to ram 1500
price starting at 90k, good luck with that, in 6 months it will be 25% off, and still way to much money for a pile of general crap
mpg 17-18 - check - expect 14mpg at its best
23-speaker, 1,375-watt McIntosh sound system - check - it will rattle your teeth off, along with the door overs, plastics caps at minimal volume
showing 20" street tires going on trails - check - there are idiots that still believe in that crap

All in all, a fool and his money will soon parted. I guess there is a sucker born every minute.

I know we are Toyota fanboys but I was a previous Jeep owner and also sat in the Gran Cherokee L. That alone is more luxurious feeling than any Toyota offering. Ow reliability and long term costs of ownership are another thing but just pure elegance, the L beats Toyota so the Wagoneer is a whole new level imo.

This isn’t a Toyota Jeep thing, that thing is just doesn’t make me want to look at it.

I am not a Toyota fanboy, I would buy a Tahoe Z71 loaded tomorrow, but I cant afford it. Everything FCA is a giant pile of crap, a money pit.
I would buy a Sequia, but they start at 78k in Canada.

My sister just bought a loaded used 2018 GMC Yukon Denali with 30k miles on it. She paid $53k for it. It looks nice, until you get up close it and see the trim starting to fail, lots of uneven gaps, finish issues, and it shows more wear than my 2019 4Runner.

    I was not impressed.

I was really hoping the new Wagoneer would be more retro styled rather than looking like the love-child of a Suburban and a Grand Cherokee.

For the record I’m not trying to step on toes. I’ve bought all in to Toyota’s mentality and ideals (has nothing, and I mean nothing to do with the jp girl I had relations with years ago) but from a pure aesthetic standpoint, the jeep has this locked. That interior is like flying emirates while we fly jet blue.

I see what Stellantis/Jeep were thinking: "All these rich assholes in places like Aspen and Telluride CO are paying $70k for restored Wagoneers with no modern luxury features, maybe we can capitalize on that by releasing an updated vehicle (with zero aesthetic similarities) with the same name"

They will probably sell a lot of them to those people, but the new Wagoneer does an even worse job than the new LR Defender at having some resemblance to the old version. It doesn't even have wood paneling which the old Wagoneer is famous for, its just using the name.

On the Toyota vs other luxury vehicle companies Toyota is losing badly. Toyota's saving grace is its cost to own. Toyota didn't even have adaptive cruise control on the LC200, something even lower spec vehicles had. I don't care how up to date on technology my vehicle is, but a lot of normal buyers do.

I had to look up the interior of the Toyota Land Cruiser to compare it to the Wagoneer and I think you are correct. It is much, much nicer looking...

    Landcruiser...

    Wagoneer...

But, when you go to look at Toyota's luxury brand, Lexus, and the Lexus LX600, then the differences aren't as stark...

Busy and complicated doesn't equate to a "nicer" interior for some of us.

As luxurious as it looks, I can't get over that it's still made by Jeep/FCA which to me translates to low quality once you get below the skin. I've owned too many Jeeps where that was always the common denominator.

I love a good interior. In fact interior looks/quality has been a tie breaker for me on two occasions when considering between two similar cars. Both times I came to regret it hinging my decision on it.

That said, the wagoneer interior looks really good. It would make for a great lease car or rental car.
