Every one I’ve bought I’ve planned on driving til they die but I have a bad habit of car shopping when the warranty is expiring and it’s time to put on new tires, etc…
Added to the crazy resale value these hold and sometimes I just can’t say no. Take the ‘17- msrp was 41451, they discounted down 5k to 36,451 and gave good value on my ‘13. 4 years later we have our insane market which allowed me to trade it in for 36,452 and were willing to come 2k off a new. Some will call me crazy but my wife’s explorer blew its transmission just after we got married and that convinced me I’d rather pay a few k every few years to keep a new car as opposed to a few k to keep an old one going.
