Thinking of blacking out the badges but want to keep the wheels and valences stock. Going back and forth on whether this will look good.

Maybe I need to see some better pictures to convince me but idk, sometimes I like the chrome letters as the pop more on a black truck but other times I think the matte badges look awesome.

Also sort of considering a half and half approach like the last picture.

    Any thoughts, feelings....pictures??

Not personally a fan of the blacked-out look. I feel the OR 4R has just enough chrome to look good, and am not against the silver valances either, as it all seems to go together. And I love the silver OR wheels, and have no intention of blacking them out or replacing with Pro wheels. Mine is MGM, and I like it just the way it came, it just all works together. That's me, though.

First thing I do when I get something new is remove all badging and the Chrome. To me chrome looks cheap. Especially the fake plastic crap. Just my invaluable opinion lol

I personally like the chrome also and silver valence.

Maybe I am old school but I feel like the black out look will be a fad who knows I could be wrong. I just feel the chrome look looks more timeless.

We all have different tastes though. I debated putting Gunmetal wheels on mine for a while. But I have a searched tons of photos and combos decided against. Try saving a bunch of pics online on your phone and scroll through them all drinking a beer. Maybe some combo will strike your fancy

I like the way it came BUT also like the blacked out look. i too have been contemplating a mod to personalize it a bit.
Ive been toying with the idea of getting anthracite carbon fiber wrap and wrapping the silver front and back, badges and the chrome strip on the front grille. A hybrid kinda look but with the added class of the carbon fiber pattern.
Im still learning how to do wrap and ppf and haven’t reached the point of confidence yet though…. Some day perhaps ill dive into that and if i dont like it NBD Ill just peel it off.
Look forward to seein what you do.

I would say the first two pictures don’t look bad at all. Slightly different black out execution that works in my eyes.

These pics just made me realize I really dont like the extra chrome on the top part of my grill. Not gonna lie, it’s probably only something a bro-grill can solve.

I think the chrome emblems and silver valances look good together, especially on darker colored runners.

My vote is for you to leave the emblems chrome with the silver valences. I too have a Midnight Black Metallic TRD ORP and that's how I've left mine.

Black is the only color 4Runner that it all looks right on in my opinion.

I bought the Venture Model, which has everything blacked out as stock. I did ditch the basket on top.

I've "blacked out" a lot of chrome and panels and de-badged many of my vehicles. I love the way my Midnight Black, Night Shade looks like something that Darth Vader would drive . Even blacked out the "hamburgers" on my wheel center caps. Lug nuts and tailpipes are the only chrome that needs to be on a modern vehicle. Of course, that is my humble opinion. :crapstorm:

Does plastidip on the front valence hold up to bug and and rock hits very well? My silver valence (on a silver ORP) is peppered with little dings and chips in the plastic. I’m thinking of dip or flat black paint to cover all the damage.
