Welcome to the forum, pretty admirable for a company to go to the enthusiast and gather real world data to make improvements.

Question i have for you that i have seen mentioned here and there in the forum is has the manufacturing for the wild peaks moved to China?

Not sure about China, both my 275/55R20 & 285/70R17 are made in Thailand.

I want to clarify on this, because I know how Forums behave and information is spread.

We do make some (emphasis on some) of our wildpeaks in China. However, we did not move all production to China. Majority of our Wildpeaks, and other Falken products, still (and will continue to) come out of Thailand, Buffalo/NY, and Japan. We have invested heavily into our Buffalo plant with hopes that when all is said and done, can support the North American market.

As most know, Chinese tires were/are hit with high tariffs to counter tire dumping into the North American market. With a higher cost on Chinese made tires, we don't rely on this plant to produce. However, we understand that there is a high backorder log for Wildpeaks, so we are put in a rough spot.

Welcome and thanks for your offer!

Question #1: I spend most of my time on the road with my stock size 265/70r17 SL Wildpeaks. What tire pressure do you recommend? Toyota recommends 32psi on the stock all season tires. I have seen 37psi recommended by someone who did a chalk test on the Falkens and also someone else who claimed they spoke to a Falken rep.

Question #2: What tire rotation pattern do you recommend?

    Hello,

This sounds familiar. Most likely i recommend that caller to stick with OE pressure since they are using the stock size. However, if the chalk test using a higher pressure made due, then I don't see any issue. Most important aspect here is for the tire to be a tire pressure that supports the load of the vehicle.

As for rotation, since the AT3ws are not directional (symmetrical in nature), you can cross rotate. This helps to minimize/eliminate any feathering on the tread.

welcome and thanks for doing this
I hate to say it but i had no luck with your tires in OEM size the tire store couldn't get the vibration @55 MPH to stop so they had to swap to a different tires
is this a common issue or is the the tire store that couldn't do a balance job thanks

Looking to get some Falken Wildpeak AT3W's in the stock 4runner size (265/70R17) for use in the PNW - vehicle is a daily driver but need it to be capable for beginner/intermediate off-roading but not hardcore rock crawling. I see this size is only available in SL and E load - can you please comment as to whether the SL would be sufficient in terms of durability for moderate off-roading or if it is recommended to go up to the E load for more puncture resistance? Thanks!

Any plans of offering the 285/75/16 in any load rating other then E? C would be ideal but even SL would be cool. 3rd gen and Tacoma guys need love too.

I was one of those people that passed on Wildpeaks after hearing that there were tires being imported from China to meet demand. Since I can't buy locally I was told there's no way to know where the tires I will be receiving are made so I decided to go with something else.

Since then I'm actually getting a GX 460 and settled on Rubitrek's as they have an XL Load Range as I tow plus they are all Made in Thailand currently so I didn't have to wonder where mine would be from.

I put a set of Wildpeak A/T Trail's on my wife's RAV4 after 200 miles on the OEM tires and really like them.

Hopefully my GX shows up soon and I can have the Rubitrek's installed before even leaving the dealership.

I really wish you'd make a Load Range C tire in more sizes (265/60R18 specifically) as I would have rather gotten them for the GX 460 instead of the XL's but the XL's will work.

Load Range C tires are perfect for all of the 4750lb+ SUV's that exist nowadays.

Any plans on making your tires lighter?

They are fairly heavy when compared the majority of your competitors.

I would also be interested to know what is behind the SL tires being fairly heavy. Are they constructed more like a C load rating? Is the extra weight the result of a construction feature associated with more sidewall strength for example? Something else? In other words, I'm hoping there is some benefit to the added weight as compared to other SL tires.

Yeah, I was also comparing 275 Load C to some of the 275 Load E tire weight. Seems pretty heavy. :(

thanks for the reply i appreciate the advice

265/70r17 on OE wheel? Were they road forced balanced or just spun balance? 1, 2, 3, or all 4 tires? Vibration apparent the moment you left the installer or after some miles?

Yes Falken Wildpeak AT3 265/70/17 on TRD Pro wheels and yes they where forced balanced hopefully next time i will be little more lucky love the WildPeak and thanks again

I love my Falkens! They ride very smooth, no vibrations and are very good looking.
They are on my 3rd gen and will go on my 5th gen when the " General " highway treads wear out.

Hi just a quick question. Do you guys sell stencils so that I can paint my sidewalls white? That's the only thing I feel like I'm missing out on when buying wilpeaks/rubitreks.
I will buying a set of rubitreks tomorrow. I Have a set of wildpeak at3w's and have put 60,000 miles on them so far. They've been great but I'm definitely not going off road as much as i thought i would and would rather have a more on-road biased tire

    Thanks,
    Noah

Testers model airplane paint and a couple different sizes of paint brushes and you'll be good to go. That's where white tire lettering came from.........it was a thing back in the 50's & 60's. The first application takes a little time, but the maintenance apps require little time. Those were the days

Awesome thank you very much for the tips. Any info on the differences between the rubitrek a/t and wildpeak a/t3w tires? I’m kind of torn between the 2 still

    Hi @Moon Landing,
I wonder if that paint will peel off with time.

Me personally would just forget about the white lettering. Wildpeaks are very good looking tires IMO. If white lettering is a big deal I would look at a tire that comes with white lettering from factory like BFG KO2. Only downside KO2 are minimum Load C, no softer passenger rated tires available.

Me personally like black lettering. I like to keep things not flashy. Again its just my thought to see if "nower" go with black Wildpeaks with no paint.
