To me the engine sounds best around 80 Mph; so, I figured, the engine likes the rpm's. :curls:

Just trying to feed off this post but my Westcott lift kit is coming Monday and wanted to switch to 285-70-17 BFG KO2 and I believe all together my local discount tire it’s going to be around 1,650…. Is that a pretty average price? I checked on black Friday and it wasn’t much difference….

These are on my short list when I move up to 285s. I had them on my Tundra and they were outstanding

I had these on my '03. Excellent all around tire! Great in snow, too!

I'm running Pirelli Scorpion AT Plus.

    Pros:
    - Higher load index than a highway tire, so presumably more robust, but weigh less than most options
    - Quiet on the street
    - Handle well on dry roads
    - Have 3-Peak severe snow rating
    - Nice AT look

    Cons:
    - In my experience they don't excel in the rain (though I think that's common for AT tires?) Haven't had any scary situations or anything, including in heavy rain on the highway, but have noticed a little bit of slip accelerating around corners. So wanted to mention it.
    - Can't vouch for performance in the snow as I haven't had the chance to test them there yet.

I like the Yokahama geolanders. I put a set on my wifes Honda CRV and they outperformed the OEM Continentals and the Firestone Destinations that wore out too quick.
My 2nd choice tire in the same price range would be the "new "BFGoodrich Trail Terrain T/A's. They look very promising as they look like BFG all terrain KO2's ..........but with a less aggressive tread pattern.
If the Yokahama's were not on sale, I would have bought the BFG's no question.
BJ's Wholesale Club and Costco sell them for cheap money , and they always have sales.

    Infinitely ongoing...
I live in Pennsylvania. Just lifted my rig. Ready for 285 70/17. I'm an "overlander". No extreme mud or rocks. First choice was BFG KO2. After back and forth... Falken Wild Peak AT3W! The 3W, Wear, Wet and Winter, got me. Price helps too.

I’m sure all the listed above are great, I have personally had the Falken Wildpeaks since 2019 on a Tacoma and now my 4Runner. Don’t have a single bad thing to say about them. I live in Indiana, so they see all seasons…dry, rain, snow…never miss a beat. Pretty darn quiet as well for an AT.

This is actually the tire I am likely going to get for my ORP in 285. Are these LT or P tires?
