I have purchased my 2019 SR5 4Runner early 2019 and quickly became frustrated seeing other 4Runners looking the same so I wanted to be different and stand out a bit; this is what I have personally done so far with my 4Runner. Nothing major just cosmetic so far:

3.jpgDirty Life Rims (Same size as OEM; using original OEM tires)

    Additional items installed:
    Morimoto Interior/Exterior Lighting
    Alpine R-S69C.2 Front Component Speakers
Morel Tempo Ultra Integra 502 Speakers (Middle Row and Rear Wall)
    Weather Tech mats

What I am planning in the near future, but I am trying to find out exactly what lift height I need to support the tire size I want:

ARB Old Man Emu 3 Inch Lift Kit (Heavy Load)
ARB Front Upper Adjustable Control Arm
    Upgrade tires to 285/65R17
    EBC Stage 8 Brake Kit
Go Rhino Off Road Running Board
    Borla Touring Cat Back System
    Morimoto Yellow Fog Lights
    Roof Rack System

    Debating to do:

    Hood Lighting
    Hidden Grille Dual Bar Lighting

    Congrats and welcome from Nevada.
Recommendation: Ditch the running boards and get real sliders if you plan on any wheelin

huh. yeah I dunno. not my flavor I guess. a faux bead lock wheel on a stock size oe tire seems odd to me. morimoto lights are nice. sub boxes ar3e a little high school/college. they take up room. oemaudio is a good source and it looks stock after the fact. but hey it's not my rig. as long as you are happy at the end of the day.

I’m not a fan of any audio system upgrades that kill cargo space since I essentially use mine as a pick up truck.

Somewhere down the line if you need to haul stuff with your truck, you may want to rethink your audio options.

Not just for wheelin, i took a shot from a Mazda in the driver side today. The RSG’s paid for themselves, other than some paint, and a scratched up wheel she’s good.

Any of the good brands will work...RSG is what I have. But Cali-Raised, Shrockworks, SSO, Victory, etc.. would be just fine. Running boards can actually damage your vehicle worse when hit...by a rock, tree or vehicle.

Some people have commented on the sub boxes taking up too much space. As I myself plan on buying a 4runner Limited (if i could find one!) what are some options as far as sub locations that are out of the way/hidden? I know the Limited comes with the JBL system with a sub in the back right panel in the rear, so that may be sufficient. I currently have a IDQv.4 10" sub in my Tacoma (as well as components/amps). I've always heard the JBL system is a pain to add anything aftermarket to.

Welcome to the forum. A lot of this is a matter of taste. (It’s not mine — eg fake bead lock —but what matters is what you like).

But what isn’t a matter of taste is those OEM tires. They’re factually horrible. I’d call them legitimately dangerous in the snow, and not good in the rain. So my advice would be to get good tires before spending more money on cosmetic mods.

IF you plan on going off-road, I would add a roof rack/cargo carrier with a Hi-Lift mount, add a CB radio (phones don't always work in the back country=neither do CBs but it's one more option), shovel, ax, good maps (Don't trust GPS 100%), traction maps and snatch strap, air compressor, tool kit, first aid kit, and gun safe.

If staying on road, you're "OK". Maybe black-out for emblems, carbon-fiber overlays.

Definitely tires if (a) you go off road or (b) you live in snow!
