    Hello,

I want my stock fog light bulbs replaced with yellow due to snow this winter. I have seen the yellow film but I am clueless if that works as well? Should I just seek a yellow bulb instead? Any recommendations will be appreciated. Should you have link please list and I will order ASAP.

Did you had any problems with stock white LEDs?

This is a screenshot of my 2018 with old fog light housing. Visibility was not bad for me to spend for a yellow fog light.

    Update -

My suggestion is run one winter and see if stock white LEDs are bad or not. If it fails then spend the money. Just a suggestion. I could be wrong.

I travel for fun to a place called mountain lake. The snow is crazy. I have read that yellow is great when it is snowing hardcore. Thanks for the input maybe I should try stock first.

Awesome I’m staying stock led. Just determine to get yellow bulb or yellow lens’s.

There is no bulb to replace in an OEM LED foglight. You would need a selective yellow film placed on top of the outer lens.

I replaced my stock halogen fog lights with the Toyota LED fog lights. They happen to be listed for the Tundra, and they are slightly oval shaped, but they fit the 4Runner.

Before installing I put yellow Lamin-x film on them. The Tundra product fit exactly and it works great. I ordered directly from the manufacturer, product number was
T147Y Toyota Tundra (14- ) Yellow Fog Light Covers

Thanks for tip. I don’t know anything about these but I thought I could use these yellow led bulbs perhaps? Maybe the yellow lens sticker is best.

I commute 15 miles one way to work through rural farmland that gets a fair amount of fog and snow a few months out of the year.

    I installed these...

    https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07R7CF9TH?ie=UTF8

These are brighter than the factory lights, to the point of getting flashed every now and then by sensitive drivers when they are on.

What I found, is that there is nearly no perceptible difference in the ability to see in heavy fog or heavy snow between these and the low beams.

For instance, if I'm driving along in heavy fog with my low beams on (because I'm not an idiot who uses high beams in fog like so many these days. "sigh") and I turn on my bright amber "fog" lights, I see very, very little difference in vision. There is an improvement. But it is minuscule. Maybe I am more visible to oncoming traffic with them on?

You're correct. It has something to do with higher color temperature (more blue-ish) light reflecting off water more than a lower color temperature (more yellow). I bet someone around here could explain it better.

It could be that the yellow led drop-ins you're running aren't the ideal color. This could also be why so many people replace their fogs with purpose built yellow fogs like Diode Dynamics SS3's.

If you have the OEM LED fog lights they do not have replaceable “bulbs”.

Try the Lamin-x, it costs under $20.
