Since this is "Off Roading & Trails" I couldn't resist putting up this little snippet I ran across today while researching a trip to Moab. Suffice to say I have a whole new appreciation for this type of off-highway drivers...

Wow - that is cool to watch but not sure I would have taken that on even when I was younger and crazier than I am now (maybe in my Rhino but not in my way more expensive 4Runner). :spending:

That is one big NO for me. Reminds me that one time I was riding a trail that ran along the edge of a 15 foot deep ditch. I happened to look down the ditch and my front wheel followed my eyes and over I went. Luckily it was sloped and other than embarrassment, I wasn't hurt.

Oh I hear that! Many years on a dirt bike doing exactly that - front tire always seem to follow my eyeballs…

I have been around there a lot, didn't do Cliff Hanger Trail neither, I had the vehicles back then that were capable to do this, I thought it was too dangerous, even in my crazy years. With the 4R it's IMHO impossible to do, no matter how modified your 4R is. Btw. that Jeep Gladiator in this excellent video production, is modified and has 37" tires.

You can see vehicles, motorcycles in the ravine rusting away, the same on Kane Creek which is less difficult and is possible with a lifted 4R sliders and the least 285 tires if you don’t want body damage. Kane Creek Canyon which is also close driving to the ravines; trail books from Wells and the likes showing Kane Creek as moderate and It's certainly not, it’s challenging, and difficult.

The obstacles on the Pritchett Canyon trail are more difficult and damaging for your vehicle, nevertheless, you don't have the ravines that are that close. That same Jeep Gladiator and same driver broke down and acquired damage on Pritchett.

Good luck on your trip, have fun, if you need any info feel free to shoot me a PM.

Thanks Roland. Since this will be my first trip to Utah I'll be looking for a LOT of input! Seriously, I don't want to do crazy - my rig is not set up for crazy and neither is my head. I'm looking for some drop dead beauty on easy to very moderate trails. I don't have skids and just minimal lift with Michelin M&S tires. At 77 I don't do crazy anymore - just happy to get off road and see some awesome sights.

Nah, that's a big pass for me too! I'm not afraid of heights, but afraid of "free standing" heights, like this!

    Cheers,

It ain’t so much the heights that bother me, its the rather brutal stopping metal to dirt surface impacts that get to me…

Well, I don't know the guy, I do know Pritchett Canyon. The only thing I can tell you and excuse me if there is a misunderstanding on my end in the word "drama queen"; driving this trail requires high skill and steel nerves.
