Guaging interest for a group buy of a power distribution module. Details are:

Module would be mounted on top of existing relay box under the hood

    Fully water proof

    Include 16 Relays (30A) and 16 Fuses: 10a, 15a, 20a, 30a

Relays 1-10 are power output only: Connected to built in buss bars through fuses 1-10, two pin operation: switch pin and power output pin. All are on common connection for other control input to relays which means these can be active high or active low.

Fuses 11-16 would be free to connect to as needed: In other words these can be used as a standard fuse block and dont have to be tied to a specific relay

Relays 11-16 would be full access relays having access to all 5 pins of each realy: control +, control -, common, normally open, normally closed. This would allow for more complex functionality such as source switching. These could also be used for standard power output as well

Initial cost estimate of each module would be $350 plus shipping, plus some likelyhood of addiontal cost for the output connectors, plugs, and crimp terminals.

Why would you want this? You get a waterproof power distribution module that has 16 relays meaning 16 switchable accessories plus a 6 fuse fuse block all in one module. Would accomodate wire sizes up to 12 awg. All this mounted on top of the factory fuse and realy box lid. Do note this would not come with any dash switches and would be more DIY than things such as a S-Pod or switch pros but its also about half the cost and allows more flexibility and a high number of accessories.

Let me know if you are interested. Currently talking to a manufacturer to get an idea on minumum number of units needed to place an order along with costs.

Do you have photos of what it would look like?

Would it mate to a PowerTray or something similar to install under-hood?

Your description sounds like this would be square between the sPod type systems and then the rudimentary Auxbeam type setups on Amazon. That about right?

I added a picture to the main post. This would be set up to mount on the lid of the stock relay box. Connectors would make it easy to unplug accessories and access stock relay box.

Yup you are spot on. Think of it as a module that allows you to have control over customization.

How hard would it be to get replacement connectors for the wiring. Since it seems those will be WP as well.

The connectors are readily available. Can order a good number of them for reasonable prices. It does require a circular connect crimper. Those are usually cheap on Amazon.

Unfortunately no. Manufacturer got back to me and due to covid caused supply issues they are not doing customized units at this time. You can however find a stock configuration: Eaton ssDVEC for a double unit and ssVEC for a single unit. Issues with the stock double unit is there at 16 power relays, but no fused only outputs, and no relays with access to all pins for more complex capabilities. I have a done of things to power on my 4runner, but not 16 relayed power only applications. Some of the single units have free fuzes and full access to relays but they don't have enough of each, atleast for my applications. Since customization wasn't an option I settled on a dual unit with 16 power relays and my plan is that I will just use the normally connected pins of the unused relays as fused outputs only, ie never activate the relay. The only thing missing is then relays for more complex tasks that require full pin access. An example of this is my highbeam control mode of my lights where my lights go from an active when button pushed mode to a active when button pushed and highbeams are on mode for quick on off of all my selected lights. For doing this I'll just stick to free floating relays. Hope this helps.

I'd love to see a picture of your setup. Thanks for the info, you got my head spinning a little bit.
