    Hi all,
    I’m a new member.
we have an 08 with very strong engine 215,000 miles. I’ve maintained w constant 3000-5000 miles oil changes.
Body is real nice but could use new rear number.
mechanic friend says 700.00 to get inspected.
The tranny is blown 2500 - 3000 $ to rebuild.
Is car worth a tranny repair or should I sell as is?
    thank you !

Jasper is a nation company that sells re-built used engines and transmission that come with a nationwide warranty- thru a network of reputable dealers across the country- you will see there advertising metal sign at local repair / transmission shops everywhere

Google Jasper transmission and you shall find

That’s a decision you’ll have to make depending on COST -your wallet and the rest of your vehicle

These transmissions are usually very reliable, for the price of a decent mileage used one, its probably worth it vs a $3000 rebuild.

Most junkyards will warrant the trans for a short period but once installed & confirmed it works ok, there shouldnt be any problems down the road. majority of used trans at junkyards come from vehicles that were in perfect running condition before they got in an accident that the insurance company totaled out. 150K miles is nothing on these trans unless something catastrophic hurt them.

Shop around for a used one & install charges from a reputable mechanic but not a dealership or big business with lots of overhead, the mom & pop or smaller shops will always have the best prices for good work. Nothing wrong with paying the big bucks for a rebuild but have to weigh the value of the vehicle & how long you intend to keep it. I have always had good luck with junkyard engines & transmissions & other parts if pulled from average mile cars in decent condition.
