Looking to store a Viair pump in the engine bay. Just realy want to store it out of the way, like the old school under hood toolboxes (just dated myself). I know oba is done all the time, but anyone just store the pump and all the gizmos that go with it?

Seems like a nice way to keep it from taking up space in the truck. I thought about it.

I currently keep my 300P in a little tote bag and coil the hose I put together right in there with it. I do like that it's protected from the element and stays clean inside of the 4Runner, but it does take up some space.

Are you planning on setting up a tank as well? Or just hooking the hose up directly to the inflator?

EDIT: I think I misunderstood your original post.

I thought I had seen a picture where someone had put a toolbox along the passenger side firewall. I'm pretty sure you could fit a box big enough for an inflator in there.

I don't see the need to do a full install, just want to toss the bag in there to get it out of the interior..just curious if anyone has done something similar.

I use the Smittybuilt compressor. Ive seen people use the 2nd batt plate from C4 Fab and install it under the hood. I like your idea of just storing it thought. I would worry slightly about engine heat. I know the pump itself gets hot while using it, but I don't know how I feel about it literally baking in the engine bay all the time?

I might also look into going this route... hey if it fails that will push me to get that sweet ARB single!

I also found this, says it mounts on pass side opposite of the OE batt, so in the front?

Would be sweet if you could find a small plastic tote or tool box to fit the pump and sit perfect on these trays! You could make build a thermal blanket to go around it out of reflectex?
