If anyone wants to get rid of the glare on a magnetic grey metallic scooped hood, I'll trade ya for a flat one lol.

I considered trading my Skewp hood for a flat one early on, but now it has a few stone chips.

As others have already noted this, at normal driving speeds scoops don't provide any benefit. For example at 60 mph, the pressure change, assuming full recovery, is only 0.06 psi on a standard day and any power gain is more than offset by the ram drag of the scoop. Also the benefit would only be realizable at full throttle as under part throttle, a large percentage of the dynamic pressure gets lost due to losses at the throttle plate.

Haha! That would be a helluva road trip for a hood swap. :)

The hood scoop will increase the engine horsepower by 30 to 45 horses, depending on what color of red you paint the grille. I found that fire engine red increases the h.p. by 38 horses. Candy Apple red will increase output by 45 horsepower. Leaving it as is, black from the factory, will not increase horsepower at all. FYI. If you want your 4Skinner to go faster, reduce the weight of the tires by replacing the nitrogen in your tires with helium. Try not to use hydrogen unless you are at the dragstrip and want to light your tires up. Try not to overfill your tires with helium or your 4Skinner may float away like a Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade balloon.

I found one hell of a deal on this 4Runner forum.
I recently traded a flat hood from a 2021 4Runner Limited for a scooped hood from a 2020 4Runner Off Road, even up, no cash needed. Exact same color, in excellent condition, and I only had to drive 85 miles to meet the person. I swapped out both hoods in less than 25 a we're both happy. I own a 2019 Tacoma TRD Sport. It also has the hood scoop. I bought the 4Runner for my wife. She wanted all the bells and whistles on the Limited and I wanted the hood scoop for the sportier look. Now we are both happy. The hood scoop does absolutely nothing except providing a better look, as far as I am concerned. A friend of mine has a 2018 black 4Runner wanting to trade a flat hood for black scooped hood. Anyone out there interested? Also, I have a factory cat-back exhaust system from my 2021 Limited available for free, you pick it up. I installed a Borla cat back exhaust system. Sounds much better now.
