I have a ‘21 TRDP with oem roof rack. I’m looking to buy a 2 rod fly rod vault for the roof. Any idea of what brands (e.g., Thule, Yakima, Trxstle) will fit on the oem roof rack without impinging on the raising of the rear hatch? Thanks.

I learned all this the hard way. The pro rack is a pain in the butt for a rod vault. You can buy an upper retail delete kit that get that upper bar of the pro rack out of the way and then get a trxtle to mount to the cross bars. I ended up buying an ultimate rod vault and it’s geometry just bounces way too much on the rails of the pro rack. You can’t space the cross bars on a pro rack as wide as you can on a non pro rack. So instead of getting a nice light easy to mount textile in the first place, I’m now putting on an uptop overland roof rack that can support the ultimate rod vault a little better. If you want lots of detail on all this, message me and we can talk on the phone. In hindsight, I should have ditched the pro rack day one and put a standard non pro rack on it. Then all rod vaults fit easy peasy.

None. Bone Stock. EXCEPT: Brushguard, tow hitch, both welded to the frame. It's good to have friends and a fully equipped garage!
I know this may not be the most professional, commercial, rod vault, but I've seen a lot of, <ahem> FRUGAL people like me just get a section of PVC pipe to fit their rods. Put a glued on end piece on one end, and just an unglued end piece on the other. Just twist and turn a little, the unglued end pops off, there are the rods. You can paint them any color you like. Also, you can drill it for mounts to fit any roof rack you like.

May not be the most super expensive, but it will protect your rod. :rimshot:
Alright, stop giggling in the back there!

Just a thought. I get so few any more...:notsure:

Where did you get the delete kit? Have you used the trxstle rod vault? I just got one and it looks like it will mount better with the delete kit and not as heavy

Upper rail delete kit is from ttdesignworksusa@gmail.com

I have not ordered the trexstle yet but will next week and yes it looks like it will be a perfect fit! I also have an Uptop Bravo rack coming in September and the trexstle will be a great fit on it too.

Here is the Trxstle fly rod rack mounted on an uptop overland rack…..I think this is the most low profile set up available. Works so good.
