Anyone tried removing the 2 chrome bars on the upper grill?

No, that’s a factory SR5 bumper. No valance on it.

 

Dude, thanks a bunch for this thread. I actually just created one asking about this particular subject. I have a 2021 trd off road and the chrome gets on my nerves lmao

 

(Not the best photo because the grill is dirty) However I did black out the chrome bars on my 2020 4runner and front toyota emblem. I used painters tape and traced around them the best I could. It was tedious but not hard. Just plasti dip.

The matt black color matches the Toyota logo perfectly, they just stick on over the chrome.



Someone needs to manufacture LED light bars to replace the 2 chrome strips in either White or Amber.

 

I picked these up on Ebay and they do magic. I was planning on Dipping it Matte Black but I decided just to whip our $25 and get the overlays so they will match my emblem overlays. I am actually very happy with them. Pictures can prove it too! Installed them back in 4/2/21 and they still hold well. From afar you can't even notice itand it just look black.

+1 Those stick on black out covers work perfectly, matches the Matt Black of the logo too. A lot easier than painting.
