Just signed paperwork on my first 4Runner, a 2021 SR5 Premium. It’s got the soft-Tex leather in sand, and I’d like seat covers to protect them. I have 2 children, and a messy husband. Any recommendations on covers that aren’t hot? Humidity is high here, and summers are unbearable (100 plus). Southwest Louisiana, if anyone is wondering. Brands? Material? Let me know. Thanks!

I raised my son in our 4Runner and honestly the Softex pretty durable as is and I lived in Southeast Texas for 4 of those years. Humidity on the Gulf is the same as you in LA considering I lived on the border of TX and LA in Orange, TX.

Welcome from Wisconsin! There must be a hundred different brands, try a 'search' in the upper right hand corner on the forum, somebody has to have the facts about seat covers. We don't use them ourselves, but plenty of people do. I have heard for year around comfort, like Snickel Fritz said.... wool!

..waving from Houston. My suggestion to help keep the new seats clean would be.. tell your husband to get a ride of his own and have everyone ride with him when you all go places. ;) Enjoy the new ride!

    Welcome from New Orleans.

I have used Marathon covers on my pickup truck seats for about 15 years and 300K miles. I figured I would try them on the 4Runner. They are a little hard to install, but I'm sure all tight fitting covers are. If you order, they really will call you like the order form says to ask questions before they start production.

These photos are minutes after install. The covers "settle in" after a few days.
