Gobi Ladder, or any other recommendations?

    3" Lift...thats it...for now!
I think I'm set on adding the Gobi ladder to my rig. Just wondering if anyone here installed one and your feedback on it, of if you opted for another ladder?

I have the Yakima Load Warrior roof rack. My 4Runner has a 3" lift, and at 5'-6" I can't reach the rack without a ladder of some sort.

    Thanks!

My only experience with a rear hatch mounted ladder is the Gobi ladder.

It's fine for what it is, mounts securely, seems stable. Haven't had any issues with it. I'd opt for the higher power hatch shocks. With the ladder on there it wouldn't want to open all the way unassisted with the OEM shocks.

There are a few options on ladders. Gobi being just one of the manufactures (plan on waiting a while unless you find someone selling one online).

I would look into the following ladders:
I have seen the Westcott Design and actually tried selling my Gobi to buy one. However, that didn’t work out so I still have my Gobi. Good luck on your quest. The rest of the ones I provided were what came up on my Google search.

If interested, I'll have a new one (Gobi) for sale in a month.

I put the Gobi ladder on both my 4runners and never have had any issues. They are super easy to install and in my opinion look great. With the new 21 pro roof rack it’s come in very handy if I need to put stuff on the roof rack!

How they mount looks like it would put rub marks/wear the paint as dirt, dust, road salt for us in the winter gets in there. Maybe they don't? Would hate to put that on a brand new runner and have paint issues.

I went with the C4 ladder. Had it for over 2 years and works well. Good access to the RTT and can hang my rotopax and trashbag since I don't use a spare tire hitch carrier or aftermarket bumper.
