Hi y’all! I currently live in Puyallup WA.

I just purchased a 2017 Premium SR5 4Runner. I am slowly figuring out what mods I would like to go with.

To start, I am going to go with matte black emblems. I have been reading on some kits after application it still show some chrome. Is there a brand I want to avoid to prevent this issue?

I added generic black overlays all around, including the front & rear logos and horizontal stripes. They look great and have worked very well with the double sided foam tape that was preinstalled in them. I added a few more bits of similar double stick in places that seemed wanting, and waited for a hot, sunny day. I let the 'Runner sit and get warm, and applied them and pressed on the side facing the sun throughout the day, rotating the vehicle around in my parking area. They feel really sound and stand up to the various car wash machines so far.

Do the overlays, 5 years in and mine look good and none have fallen off. It doesn't cost much more than a few cans of plastidip and takes about three minutes to install including the 30 seconds to walk out to the actual vehicle.

Thanks for the reply. When you refer to generic overlays is there a site you would recommend?

'Weekeight' for the main kit, and 'High Flying' for the front center grill insert strips. Both off of Amazon.
