Are they generally a colour match for the OEM blackout overlays? Would be pairing them together.

It's pretty easy to take off the strips and the emblem up front and paint them with Plastidip. The rear not so much.

Yeah I got the factory overlays. If I have to get a 2020 grill without the strips I will.

I have them installed and love them. Bought them from the same eBay seller. Super easy install. I’m a car wash guy and they’ve been through dozens, maybe hundreds, and no problem so far. They look like they were OEM.

B0C1A1B7-D054-4D9C-BE17-4DF34DAC14BD.jpg I think you can zoom in on this one. It’s all I have right now. I’ll get something direct and closer tomorrow. I’ve never used a pressure washer on my truck.

Anyone have a part number for the factory overlays?

I assume they are thinner and more precise than the plastic overlays commonly sold on ebay for $25, which seem to do a sloppy job on the double sided tape.

It doesn't look too difficult to remove and spray a couple of coats with Matt or Satin Black Paint.

    Great pictures! Thanks!

I guess overall they don't feel too cheap or chintzy? Conscious of putting fake plastic on a $50K truck lol but your pics make it look OEM.

They are fairly stiff and precise for length and width. The tape on them has performed as designed so far. I do make a point of wiping them off after every wash while I'm drying the whole truck, which I think gets dirt and road grime off that might otherwise not be brushed by the car wash. To VentureTRD's point about the sloppy double sided tape, I kind of thought that too but they have stayed for 11,000 miles and bunches of car washes. Seems OK so far. As always, YMMV.

Edit: I originally read about them on this site somewhere. A search might turn up other opinions.

I bought a set of the overlays for the grille strips on my 21 TRD ORP from Amazon during prime day. Was just under $20 delivered.

They are not perfect but went on without an issue and look great. The color matches the Toyota OEM overlay for the Toyota Badge. The minor flaws in the plastic are on the bottom inside edge and not visible when installed. The material is way thicker than the OEM overlays as well.

The gap in the double sided tape on one of the pieces is because the part number is embossed on the plastic in that spot. It didn't cause any issues with installation or the bond strength.

If I had to do it over again, I would do it the same way.

As long as they stay on ok, I'll give them a try.

Not a big fan of Plastidip. Did the front TOYOTA emblem on my FJ with about 6 coats. It looked good for a year or so, eventually the car washes started to remove it around the edges and it started to peal off. Ended up scraping it off and painting it like I should have did from the start.
